Review of Fawlty Towers

I stayed at Fawlty Towers recently for 8 nights. Here's my review:

Good bits:

1. Hospitality - Both Dave and his wife Sonn are great hosts and are very helpful. Staff is fantastic, very honest and entertaining. On Friday nights of footy, Dave puts on a project with a big screen which is great for footy as well as Formula-1.

2. Safety - The rooms are quite safe as main entrance is always locked. I had an incident whereby a bar girl tried to keep a tap on me, but could not enter the building due to locked main entrance. She ended up calling Sonn to open the door, but Sonn told her to bugger off. Dave even put my laptop in his safe downstairs and I could get it back whenever I wanted.

3. Entertainment - Room had a TV with cable connection which was great when I was having time off. Fawlty Towers has fantastic wifi with great speed which was great for connecting with my VPN.

4. Aircon - I come from Melbourne and temperature is around 8-10C. So, I loved the aircon in the room. Room also had a fan which made it even better.

5. Location - You gotta love the location of Fawlty Towers. It is in a quite soi and is2 mins walking distance to Central Festival and 2 mins to Kiss restaurant. It is also quite close to Soi LK. So great location for all entertainment, quite time during day and food.

6. Room - It was quite an average room. But I was paying 600 baht per night.

Not so good bits:

1. Bed - Mattress was quite hard and in some places you could feel the springs. The bed itself was quite simple and made some noise to wake Dave up during action ;).

2. Bathroom - Bathroom was quite small and the toilet pan would get wet all the time during shower.

Summary - Would I stay there again or recommend it? YES. Dave is a great bloke and fantastic host who knows how to take care of his guests. And, so is rest of staff. I will definitely stay there during my next stay.

Good, honest review. Thanks for the info about the games. I may sneak over and watch a game or two.

Always good to know another decent place near Soi LK. Funny about the name tho - whenever I hear it, I remember one episode where the sign changed to "Flowery Twats". :D

I'd struggle to get past all those sex starved massage girls on Soi Honey to get to LK..A 5 minute walk but takes so much longer with all that eye candy to look at !

Dave - I sent you an email yesterday about a room for November. Heard good things on the forum and Kessaya recommended you first. I now have airline tickets and a motorcycle, just need the room!

Hi dave I have just returned a couple of days ago from Pattaya and looking to re-book.

I stayed in the Siam Bayview hotel and was totally un-impressed and am looking to stay in a guest house this time for 3 weeks in December.

Can you please tell me about the availability.
