I plan on staying in Pattaya for 10 days in October. I know there are lots of hotels to choose from. I like the pictures of the Citin Loft and Nova Platinum - how do the rooms look in real life now ? From what I've read here these 2 hotels are girl friendly, is that still true ? No joiner fee ?

Anything else I should know when making my choice ? Are there any other hotels with similar rooms in a similar price range(1000-2000) that are girl friendly ?

I stayed at the Citin Loft with a friend for 3 days in Feb and its a very nice hotels and rooms, friendly and helfpul staff and good buffet breakfast.

A bit out of the way, almost all taxi drivers couldn't find it and had to ring the desk for directions.

You get a courtesy Songthaew to Tops Supermarket which is close to Big C shopping centre. Asked for a taxi ride to it from the Tiffany show one night and ended up in Jomtien beach! Quite scary!

Very nice hotel, no complaints. Didn't try brining a girl back but couldn't see any probs with it.

I loved the Citin Loft. Everything about it was perfect, except the location which isn't too bad. Brought back LT girls here at night, and didn't even have to give them ID cards up front but I will next time for safety reasons. Seriously, for the price you get an amazing feeling of comfort. At times, I didn't even feel like leaving my room because it was that damn comfortable. I couldn't believe I was paying ONLY 1000 baht a night for my room.

Warning: Taxi drivers have no FREAKING clue where this place is. Have the address and phone number of the place printed out, both in English and Thai. Try to prepare yourself mentally for the hunt to find this place.

Mate, I've stayed at the Nova. Nice hotel and staff but too far and in an area where there is nothing. I considered CIti Loft, but a little too far for walking too. I recommend August in the same area and price range, but better in every other respect.

BTW, If you decide on Nova, tell the taxi it is on "Pattaya Klang and Soi 12" . Right on the corner there is a sign pointing the direction of the hotel.

Citin loft is an exellent hotel for the price.

I can easily imagine that the taxi could be a problem.

When I stayed at Citin loft, I had the taxis drop me of at the corner of soi bukhao and pattaya klang and I walked to the hotel from there.

hotel looks great.. shame where its located..just to far when pissed ihmo...

I stayed at both and like them for different reasons. Citin has nice rooms, balcony furniture, wifi, separate bath and shower, good breakfast and not expensive. Downside is location like people mentioned and pool which is by reception and covered by hotel so not in the sun. If you know your way around it is easy to walk down to Pattaya Klang and go from there. MAny laundry and mini mart nearby. If you have different ladies each night it is more difficult than if a regular who will be comfortable going to and from the place.

Nove rooms are smaller and shower/bathroom is not very big. Great pool and small gyn if that is important. I did not eat there so cannot comment. I also find Nove to be just enough south of Pattaya Tai to be inconvenient. Too short to take a taxi and walking is along crowded sidewalks. Actually about the same distance from the main road as Citin is from Klang. If you go to and from Jomtien then not an issue as on the road.

I aslo have stayed at August Suites and agree that is a good option as on Pattaya Klang and nice rooms. If you like a large 40sq/mtr size then August Suites or Citin are best. Nova is regular size. Actually, all are good options and depends on what is most important and your comfort knowing your way around town.

In all cases, shop around for best price as it varies a lot by internet hotel provider. August Suites is primarily direct booking through their website although I see they now use Agoda as well.

Common sense is not very common.

Yes, they have routers in the hallway on each floor so signal good.

I think you are confusing/refering to Nova Suites which is a different hotel to Nova Platinum.

I stayed at the Citin Loft shortly after it opened and found no problems with it. Had the deluxe room with the four poster bed and loved it. No joiner fees even for 2 BG's and for that stay the girls got to join me for breakfast too. Hated the pool but the rooms were outstanding and the staff unobtrusive. It was a little hard on the taxis but you take the good with the bad. The hotel did give you a card with their address and number on it so I just used to get the drivers to ring them.

Never stayed at the Nova Platinum. I prefer the Nova Gold near the Amari Suites and Jameson's hotel. It is a short walk down to Soi 6 and if you can make it through Soi 6 unscathed to Beach road there are baht buses every 5 seconds. Getting home was just as simple. Go to Soi 6 young man. Like this hotel because it is cheap, quiet, nicely appointed and close to Soi 6, Big C (they even have a golf cart to take you and pick you up), have computers in the rooms, a semi covered pool with gym, breakfast and room service from Jameson's (I'll have the buffet breakfast and pint of Guiness thanks), all the while the staff are very unobtrusive.

A little word of advice if you are thinking of booking the Nova Gold, insist on an '11' room. The 11th room on each floor overlooks the pool towards the Amari Suites and is the largest room on each floor as well as the quietest. They are all 'executive' rooms. In all the time I have stayed there I have never had any problems or issues except internet connection which was remedied by the staff quickly. There are lots of good cheap laundries and massage shops nearby, plus motorbike taxis opposite Jameson's. It is easy to get to Soi Bukhau by motorbike taxi from there too. There is even a cool open air Thai pool bar next door although it helps if you bring your own spirits and mixers. Ask them for ice and just shoot some pool with the local lads. But be warned it is not a pick up joint. It is a Thai bar and you are a guest so bring your own pussy.

Of the two hotels I would recommend Nova Gold ahead of Citin Loft on sheer convenience alone. Wake up, have breakfast, go for a walk, get a massage, wander up to Sabai Dee and have a wonderful bath then some lunch at Big C. On the wander back drop in and see who is open on Soi 6. There goes the afternoon. Home for a shower, dinner at Jameson's and then it is off to races. The submarine races that is. Cheers mates.
