Need Hotel advice around 1000 baht near Walking st.

In my first trip, I stayed in Amari Nova Gold which is brand new, small and friendly hotel but it is far from Walking Street. I need to find a hotel close to Walking Street (in walking distance) and around 1000 baht or lower.

I was thinking erawan hotel (900 baht no breakfast) but I'm not sure if they are guest friendly (joiner fee?) or not.

Galaxy suites is in a good location but hotel seems very small and it may receive noise from bars around.

Pattaya Bay Resort (as advertised in this forum) seems good but I would like to have multiple options to choose from.

Any help?

I like to stay at the Royal Palace on 2nd Road, its about a 10 minute walk to Walking Streetin . They have a Membership Club you can join for 300 bhat. The rooms cost about 1100 bhat per night. Clean, nice check it out www.royalpalaceroyaltwins.com

If you really want to be close to Walking Street, consider Jasmine hotel on Soi BJ, one block from Happy AGoGo. Rooms are small and basic, but hotel is only 5 years old. No pool and no phones in the room, but rates are 600-800. There are similarly priced accommodations in the area, but many have bugs (e.g. Diamond Beach Hotel). Very guest friendly, I've brought two girls back many times.

I would recommend to keep your options open and also look at guest houses. I found that you get very personalised service and people to explain you things etc.

I am planning to stay again in Fawlty Towers on Soi-10 as my past experience was fantastic. There are more gueshouses in Soi 13/2 like Pinnocchio where service will be great. Past owner was my friend, but he has sold off the business now.

Enjoy your trip. Weather is very nice here right now with raining sometimes to cool down the heat.

Thank you for all responses. I need to stay close to my friends so I'm limited with nearby places to Walking Street.

Try P72 which is actually on Walking St.The rooms were updated a couple of years ago.Great value if you plan on spending most of your time in this area.

I stayed at The Jasmine in Soi BJ last Nov and can confirm that the rooms are clean and well appointed. Staff friendly and no noise from surrounding locations. Rooms upto 1050bt per night. All in all a good hotel and ideally placed for Walking Street.

I still can't decide which hotel to stay. If I was coming alone, that would be easy but I'll come with 4 friends and we need to stay close to each other, which limits my choices to near WS only. Normally, I'm not so picky about the room but in September 20+ it could be raining all day long and I may have to spend more time in the room (with my TGF of course) so room does make the difference. I advised Jasmine to one friend so he'll stay in Jasmine. I'm trying to decide between Erawan and Pattaya Bay Resort.

I stayed at the Diamond Beach hotel and didn't see any bugs. It was under 1,000 baht and really convenient for bring back the girls. They have the ladies leave their ID with the security guard. No joiners fee. No free wifi , safe at front desk.

Consider yourself lucky. I've stayed there about a dozen times, mostly because I could park my motorcycle in the

parking lot beneath the building. Only once didn't I see roaches in my room, which is why I changed to Jasmine, even with smaller rooms. I just don't like roaches, but the worst experience I had there was when the Russian tour group arrived at 5 AM and were stomping up and down the hallways. I've had quite enough of the Diamond Beach, it's a dump.

I booked with PBR but they don't have king size bed room left. I hope queen size bed is not that small...

I agree, loads of bugs and last time I was there, the staff robbed my room. I moved to P72, as said above, good value for money, right in the middle of WS and friendly staff. I pass through again in October for 2 days and will stay at P72. When I come back the following week for 25 days, thought, I'm really looking for somewhere with a bath. Other than no bath, I can't fault P72. Also stayed at Jasmine before which I thought was great.

To be clear - AVOID DIAMOND BEACH hotel !!

This quote:

Extra person in room, day bed, baby crib in room or use of the sofa bed, additional B500.00 per day.

Does that mean if I bring 1(2?) girl(s) back to my room I have to pay extra?

Hi!

Just checked the price on their website, but it starts from double your price. 1100bt was a promotion rate?
