Passport Problems anyone?

So I went to post office got passport packet, filled out and provided everything that was asked. A few weeks later I get a letter and form packet. Basically saying they need more information to prove that I am really me.

 

They want every address I ever lived.

Every school ever attended

All jobs ever had

All info on family members

And 5 documents with either photo, signature, both.

 

What the heck, anyone else have to do this? It is really hard for people to remember where they lived when they born, we moved alot lol. Just looking for input if anyone else had something like this happen. How accurate were you in all the info provided? This better not ruin my vacation.

To the best of my knowledge, you only have to go back 7 years with that info for a US Passport application. Check the form again? Also, unless the requirements have changed dramatically, all you should need is proof of ID (driver's license) and proof of citizenship (birth or naturalization certificate). I was as accurate as I could be, but if I didn't know exact answers I just took my best guess...

For the birth certificate you need an "original". You can order them online from every state, the key being that it must have the raised state seal on it else they will not accept it.

 

My guess is the OP has a common name or a name on the watch list which would require additional proof. Again, just a guess.

My origanal birth certificate was really worn out could not read, so I did order one off line from the department of records where I was born. It was official with the seal, that I turned in with packet. I dont know what there deal is but the us government is being stupid. I just hope I hear something soon.
