Western Wholesale - Meats, Pies. Bacon, Sausage ..

Western Wholesale has been in Chaiyapruek 2 for several years, supplying Western restaurants with Meats, Pies, Bacon, Sausage and just about everything else.

 

It's South on Sukhumvit to the Chaiyapruek traffic lights before Floating Market. Turn left and it's on your right about 200 metres.

 

It's always been possible to go round the back and buy bacon etc, but it was difficult to find.

They've recently opened a shop in the front of the building and they're trying to get noticed.

 

If you eat farang you've probably sampled their wares before, because I've seen English guys loading up their pick up for their restaurant.

The pies are Baker's Oven brand and there was a shop in Jomtien near Ace Cafe specialising in their stuff.

 

If you're currently buying your supplies from Yorkies or that shop near Carrefour you should try this place.

I haven't tried everything yet, but their short back bacon is second to none and only 210/kg, which I know is a fair bit cheaper than the competition.

 

I'll post a photo of the shop front soon and I have a Price List which I'll scan in later.

 

For now, here's a Desperate Dan Steak Pie I sampled yesterday - yum yum yum - probably the best I've had here.

I bought some cheap meat pies featured on this Forum once, but they weren't that cheap considering I gave half of them to the dog.

 

This is the real deal IMO.

Good Q young boy. I ran out some while ago and I'm trying to wean myself off it, but yes, it wouldn't have gone amiss, along with some mashed potatoes and Bisto gravy mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I kept meaning to scan their Price List in but now I find they have a Website with all details and you can download their Price List there.

I was there stocking up yesterday and I got the full tour - all very clean and modern.

It looks like business is picking up in the retail shop now and in the chiller was an order to go to Hua Hin.

 

For Cafes, Restaurants and Bars around Pattaya they have a refrigerated truck for deliveries.

I'll try to remember next time I go in.

 

In case anyone wonders, I'm not connected in any way. I just come past there and noticed they'd built the shop out front. I knew it was there before, but never ventured round the back. It's owned by an English guy and managed by a Scotsman. The Thai lady running the shop is very nice and speaks good English.

 

I'd say it's on a par with Yorkies and that one somewhere at the back of Carrefour, but a lot cheaper. They supply such as Friendship and Tops.

There's a meat pie place way down in Jomtien, just past the police station on the left (the beach is on the right..ahem) - is that Yorkies? I lived in the midlands as a lad so I really enjoyed Yorkie's cumberlands (better than I can get in bloody Amsterdam)...

Yes, that's Yorky's (sp?). As I've said above I'd say they're about on a par for most products, but Western Wholesale is much cheaper.

I'd like to mention that Eric does smoked ribs every Saturday and can smoke other meats for you as well.

 

The first time I went to his shop I had a bit of the ribs that had been frozen. Defrosted them in the microwave and they were still delicious. Just imagine how nice they'd be straight outta the smoker ;)
