Could try Grottino. It is between Soi 17 and 19 (behind Robinson) so actually nearer to Soi Cowboy (five minutes walk) but is also very near to Nana (ten minutes walk). I stayed there last week and would recommend the place. Has a private key card entrance for hotel.

Most of the hotels in the Nana area are guest freindly, and most have 24hr check-in. The issue you will have with the early check-in is that basically you will have to pay for the previouse day. Many will let you check-in early if they have the rooms availible, but to check in at 6:30 AM I'd say most will require you to pay for that extra day.

As far as hotel options - between 1,000 and 2,000 baht there are tons of places:

Soi 4:

The Darwin

Ibis

Boss Suites

Just outside of Soi 4:

Legacy Express (on Suk near Soi 1)

Majestic Suite hotel (on Suk, near soi 4)

Phachara Suites (Soi 6)

Dynasty Grand (Soi 6)

Soi 8:

Citadines

On8 (actually on Suk, near soi 8)

Grottino was mentioned early - good option. There are several others near there that are solid choices as well - Key hotel for example.

I honestly don't get the attraction to the Nana hotel. I stayed there 8 years ago and it was a shithole. It's of the standard of a big 'short time room'. It isn't like they've spent a ton of dough refurbishing it either. It's kinda like still staying the Flipper on Soi 8 in PTY with all the better choices now available. There's 4 or 5 new hotels around the same price real close by. IBF was kind enough to try to lead you to them. Need a nice big room & a nice big pool - the Omni for $36 or so. Aging a bit, but still way better than the Nana. Do yourself a favor & give the NH a miss. you'll be glad you did. wj

Agree with wackyjacky on the nana - feel free to check reviews both on here and elsewhere on net - i walked out after one night in the dump. personal preferences in your price range i've stayed at would be ibis, majestic suites, dawin and dynasty inn in that order. dawin and dynasty inn are doing deals until the end of september as well depending when you are looking at going. further out the key seems to be a good option at the rate on latestays.com currently.

if you want cheap; Nanatai mansion. 900 - 1100b night, guest friendly. i'ts right at the far end of the nana plaza street (soi 4) however, so a 10 minute stagger home.

If you're not thinking about pussy then you're just not concentrating.

agree 100% and it is such a pity for what is probably one of the best located hotels in bangkok that they don't spend a little bit of money updating it - they would make it back in spades............

Stable Lodge, soi 8,, bjut as another BM wrote you might have to pay for the previous day if checking in that early. Again, if the room is available you might get it without paying that extra day. Tried that once in Watana Mansion (a bit further out on Ratchada soi 17) Checked in about 07,30 a.m. at no extra charge

Everyone has the right to my opinion
