2nd Visa to UK for GF

Big Casino

Recommended Posts

My Thai GF had her second UK holiday visa approved yesterday so very happy BM and extremely exited Thai lady on phone yesterday. My reason for the post is not to crow but to state that we went through the same procedure of being honest, upfront, sending all documents that I have stated in previous posts with this time Pics of her in London in front of the main attractions and it appeared to be a breeze. One visit to Embassy. one text two weeks later and she has visa. This is the third Visa we have been succesful 1 to europe and 2 now to UK.

Anyway Im happy and thought I would just share this and say to all guys wanting to bring your girl to your homeland that UK is a tough place for Visas but that her honest upfront approach to the Embasy appears to work in our case.

By the way I have never been contacted by the Embassy allthough I supply telephone and E Mail address.

Anyone thinking about it but not sure on procedure feel free to contact me.

Glad to read all went well, Big C.

As she has demonstrated she can be trusted and returned promptly you will have no issues .

Why did you not apply for a 2 year tourist visa she can spend any 6 months out of 12 in the UK and its valid for 2 years ?

Saves all those trips to UK/VAC.

Just out of interest when was she last in the UK ?

The any 6/12 is guidance only and not law the UK/BA interpretation of the rules is they think guidance is the law and it is not.

Did not know you could do this so thanks for the tip. Her present Visa is valid from September for 6 months so are you saying if I applied for a 2 year visa she could come over for a few weeks this year, then early next year for a few weeks and any time later in the next two years until she has used 6 months of visits up ?

Hello yes she can come and go as much as she pleases example arrived Jan 1 2011 spent two months in the UK.

She can then has 4 months left within that year technically but the any 6/12 is guidance only not the law you will imo have no issues getting a 2 year visa next time.

2.1.9 Frequency and Duration of Visits

There is no restriction on the number of visits a person may make to the United Kingdom nor any requirement that a specified time must elapse between successive visits. The fact that a person has made a series of visits with only brief intervals between them would not, in the absence of any other relevant factors, constitute sufficient ground for refusal.

It is reasonable, however, for the immigration officer to consider the stated purpose of the visit in the light of the length of time that has elapsed since previous visits. A visitor should not, for example, normally spend more than 6 out of any 12 months in this country

Hi Guys,

I have a Thai Girlfriend that i have been seeing for the last 18 months and i have been over to LOS several times and we get on great.

The problem is that although separated i am not divorced from EX so would my Thai GF be able to list me as sponsor?

Money no issue and i can provide evidence etc but i am worried about how to deal with the still married issue? I have started DIV proceedings but they are no where near completed.

Lots of relationship evidence in the form of emails and pics so this element i think we can deal with but worried about the divorce not being finalised.

Also what is the step by step procedure for Thai GF to do? Shall we apply for 3/6 month visitors visa? She has money I have money and we would like a 3 or 6 month trail run together in the uk so any advice on the best way to proceed would help.

Is there a post on the site (Could not find a pinned one)with a detailed breakdown of the process and the forms and info needed so i can follow this and start to put together the documents.

Sorry to hijack your thread Big C but its exactly the same issue you have been dealing with so i hope you don't flame me for doing this!

If a detailed chronology of the uk visitor visa process for TG does not exist i will put this together and apply to have it pinned to help other people in the future.

In the meantime any help or guidance for our first application would be much appreciated as i am a complete novice as far as visa applications are concerned but we are both ready to take the next step of girlfriend visiting the uk to check out just how cold and miserable the place is compared to where she lives!

Im back to BKK shortly and can help her complete all the docs and get all the info and supporting docs together for her first application.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Cheers

You can post date a visa 90 days in advance of travel which I always recommend if you intend to travel in December apply in September this gives you plenty of time in case the Embassy want further information etc.

We have just applied for a 2 year visit visa for a client and she got it on Tuesday.

If I was you I would opt for the Holiday Visa which runs for 6 months if this is your trial period with her. As for your position with your wife wouldnt be a problem as it appears to me that they are only interested that you have had a relationship with your GF over a period of time and you can afford to cover her costs in this country. The resty of the paperwork s a formality and if you want i can list what you need to take with you to Bangkok. I sent a copy of the letter I use for Visas to a BM last week for him to copy with his own details plus a list of essentials. Drop me a line if you want the same.
