Bringing Malaria Meds into LOS

Is it OK to bring malaria meds into Thailand? I've seen info saying 'don't bring in your own meds without a perscription' but does this apply to malaria meds? I have the box, but I don't have any script to go with it (the chemist collected this when I bought the pills) and my name isn't stamped on the box like it would be in the UK.

Cheers!

If you do a forum search on 'malaria' you'll find lots of information....

and whether or not you even need them in LOS in the 1st place.

I've never had a problem with any meds that were conveyed under a valid prescription; malaria, sleeping pills whatever. Includes transits into and out of Thailand, Myanmar, Cambodia, Singapore, Indonesia and others.

Now I have heard of some mid-east countries being nuts in their drug enforcement processes, but I don't go thru that part of the world.

Its your call but there is no issue with malaria in Thailand

I'm going further down south, near Cambodia as well, that's why I'm taking them. I'm only spending a few days in Pattaya. Thanks anyway :-)

Brought some in a couple of years ago, no problem, but then I had the prescription.
