Thai Visa Express

Recommended Posts

26 July 2010In June 2010 the government announced plans to introduce compulsory English language tests for all non-European migrants applying to come to the UK to join or marry their settled partner.Today the UK Border Agency announced that these plans will be implemented from 29 November 2010. From this date, any migrant who wants to enter or remain in the UK as the partner of a British citizen or a person settled here will need to show that they can speak and understand English, by taking an English language test with one of our approved test providers. The new rules will apply to anyone applying as the husband, wife, civil partner, unmarried partner, same-sex partner, fiance(e) or proposed civil partner of a British citizen or a person settled in this country. They will be compulsory for people applying from within the UK as well as visa applicants from overseas.Further information about these changes can be found in a written ministerial statement, which you can download from the right side of this page. We will publish more information, including a list of approved test providers, before the change is introduced.Information via the UK/BA :http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitecontent/newsarticles/2010/july/50-english-test-partners

This is a disgrace!

Just as well the Thais don't apply the same rules to us and we all have to speak Thai before they let us in!

I cannot believe for a holiday visa you would have to take such a test!

It will be interesting to hear how this plays out in reality.

I could see this happening in America. (NOT) They could set up testing stand on the borders as the illegal aliens make a dash across the border. Maybe Obama could even implement a tax on the test to help our economy.

I don't think it will be a problem for the Thais. Once the tests as been up and running a few months, it will be as corrupt as all the other test they are supposed to do.

One of the GF's mates has had to go to school 4 times to achieve a 50% pass rate in basic German, at a cost of 100000B, so that she can get a visa. Unfortunately, she obviously never did any work, as she was more interested in losing 5000B per day (of her BF's money) playing cards with her friends.

Back to the OP. What a silly policy designed to appease a racist UK public. These girls aren't asylum seekers or illegal immigrants, who BTW won't be affected by the policy; they will be supported by their husbands. Even if they do work, in menial jobs that dole scum won't give up their benefits to do, hasn't the government been championing this type of immigration, to encourage an influx of young people who will pay for current & near future pensioners?

Perception is reality baby! Like the government ministers who will travel by train to save tax money, but it turns out that their briefcases have to travel by car, effectively doubling the price of ministerial travel. 1984 is here & the ministry of information is working overtime, to say nothing of the ministry of peace!

Peace. :GoldenSmile1:

So in theory, a guy who is already married and been living with his Thai wife for say 18 months in the UK will now face being separated from his wife and she will face being taken from her husband and possibly children if they were born here and if they have any if she cannot speak english?

That is shocking IMO. They need to get the Poles and the cunts steal UK jobs the hell out. As is normal for the UK, they will pick on the easy prey in order to save money and gain votes. I'm sure they will be facing huge problems if this instance arises.

Saying that the Thai's won't even let us work, own a house or remain without none stop visas etc.. So maybe it is just?

Wha's like us?

I suspect that those already here & going through the process of the settlement visa will be grandfathered in. If the UK model follows the German one, then a certificate will need to obtained before a visa is granted. That's along with the 'life in the UK' test, a test which members of benefit Britain would find impossible to pass; unless the question was 'is your name X'.

Of course, members of the accession states, who's level of English it is illegal to ascertain, are free to work / live in the UK. Many families in fact move here, upon which they are given a free home (assessed as homeless) & enjoy benefits far & above any level that they could dream of earning in their respective homelands.

Peace. :GoldenSmile1:
