iPhone 4 16GB Factory Unlocked

Hi,

I will be travelling to Pattaya in September and will be bringing a couple of iPhone 4 16GB factory unlocked handsets new in box.

 

A couple of questions:

 

1. Is there any legal limit on bringing handsets to Thailand?

2. Could I sell these to the grey market (such as in Tukcom) or privately?

 

It would be nice to make a few Baht's to cover some of the "activities" whilst there - LOL!

I've brought phones over from the UK before to sell and it's not worth the hassle.

I wouldn't bother bringing them over with you,if you tried selling them in the shops they'll offer you next to nothing and if you try selling them private you'll get the usual "no hab money".Plus they'll be in English and need re-programing for Thai.

As darkside bob says sell them on ebay,far far easier and more money for you.

Years ago you could make good money on phones here as prices here were astronomical whereas you could pick up the ones people had got free on contract in the UK for peanuts when they did their free upgrade. Ten phones for peanuts in the UK used to pay for ym trip here.

 

That market has gone as phone prices have fallen pretty much in line here now.

I don't know the iPhone prices at all, but last year when I bought a Nokia N96 they were a lot lot cheaper on Ebay than I could find them here.

 

Of course, bringing them here and then trying to hawk them round the bars or sell them in Tukcom is a different proposition altogether.

You'd need to have someone here who definitely wanted one.
