The thing I miss most about Thailand

Recommended Posts

...

People in Thailand are polite. People in Thailand are soft-spoken. People in Thailand do not like to argue.

...

I love and miss Thailand too. But how did you come to above conclusion. Visit a real thai family to discover the opposite. If you have no chance to do so, just watch any/most of their daily TV soaps to encouter screaming, arguing family members ... also translate some of what they speak and you will discover that some of their talking is very rude and straight forward.

There are of course many draws to the Land of Smiles.

The women. The food. The weather. The smiles. The reasonable cost.

However, as I spend more time back in farangland after my trips, I am starting to miss one thing more than any of these.

I can view porn. I can find Thai food. I can live in a warm place. I can smile at people and (sometimes) get a smile back. And I can be a savvy consumer.

But there is one thing that I cannot get in farangland, and it is really starting to wear me down.

You see, just about every time I turn on the television, the radio, or just talk to people in the workpace or on the street, I encounter something ugly.

People in farangland are loud. People in farangland are rude. People in farangland like to argue.

The Thailand experience is so different.

People in Thailand are polite. People in Thailand are soft-spoken. People in Thailand do not like to argue.

I MISS THIS TOO MUTT!!! :Insanity:

i miss the fact that in thailand there are many beautiful women that DONT think they are gods gift to the world. A half decent woman in england seems to think she is untouchable and has the right to put any man down for asking her out unless its george clooney or brad pitt. i work in the navy and some of the wrens are butt ugly but men being men, obviously they are not short of a shag every night with a different guy if they want one. makes me sick seeing a fat ugly cunt lording it up as though she is somehting. i would love to plonk one of these vermin in the middle of pattaya and watch her face drop.

Everyone has the right to my opinion

Many things that I miss about Thailand, have already been mentioned here.

One thing I like to do, is to have a morning coffee and a cigarette in a cafe by

the Pattaya Beach Road watching people pass by, and enjoying the sea view.

Having already been described as not addicted so much as obsessed with the place, my list is near endless but here are a few of the things, many have been mentioned already:

The warm sun

The beautiful country as soon as you leave the city

Waking in the morning and seeing her sleeping, looking so innocent and vulnerable cuddling a soft toy.

The soft touch of the beautifully golden skin

The smell of her skin

Her leaning across and for no discernable reason whispering "You man good heart" (half an hour before I was stupid falang)

The cheerful atmosphere and banter walking along Soi 6 to my hotel

The smiles and laughter of the girls in the bar and the falang tourists I met

The knowledge when you wake up that though you have plans for the day, they are not going to work out and not caring

The genuine and deep laughter and delight when I tell her as I go that I barfine her for 2 more days when I leave so she have holiday and rest after time with silly old man

The musicality and laughter of the chicken farm as I am out and about in the taxi with the three ladies - not understanding a word but enjoying the sound

Beautiful dinner on the floating restaurant at River Kwai, to the sound of insect and frog noises, moon up above

In the morning looking out of the loom window on Soi 6 and seeing the normally brash noisy ladies setting up the offering, performing silent and reverent devotions outside the bars

Being able to smile at a complete stranger in the street and getting a smile back

The list is endless - roll on August

But...what do I know?

Smiling at a pretty Thai girl and having her smile back at me!

Cuddling up to that same pretty Thai girl in bed at night!

And, of course, of getting from the airport to my room at the Queen Victoria, opening the window, going out onto the balcony, and looking down at the noise, bustle, lights and girls of Soi 6, probably the sexiest most exciting street in the world, and thinking - I have 20 days of this (roll-on August!).

I miss the touch of their skin and the smell of their loveley long black hair. As for England the countries gone to the dogs not just the loud mouthed wankers on a Friday night but taxation, national debt every scrounging bastard in europe jumping on whatever transportation they can to fleece the benefits agency so we can pay even more tax so they can sit round do fuck all but the occasional trip to Lidl. Shit weather, politicians fleecing us with expenses, a football team that cant play, Eastenders, Fat lazy single mothers and on and on and on and on !!!!!!!!!!! Ive got to stop as I feel a robert deniro moment coming on

5 more years and Im out of here.

Big C

So it,s not only me who feels like that. peace bother see you in heaven[ patts]

the thing we miss is the thing the make us "pattaya addicts", aren't thy?

i can go on and on but i will be just repeating things that have been said here so in general i guess its the easy going spirit of a holiday in Thailand. ive been to many countries but i never felt so welcomed and relaxed on a holiday as ive felt in Thailand.

and yes, taking a huge chance of being a Cliché - the beautiful girls...

Not much to add to the above.

Pattaya is just so easy. Easy to get around, easy to find a bar, easy to eat, easy to find company, easy to do things, easy to find a girl - at any time of the day. Very relaxing and a great place to unwind.

A great place to go back to time after time.

This post makes me sad, because I miss it so much. I have to say in spite of the night time craziness on WS I find that Pattaya calms me. Maybe it is the girls, maybe it is the weather, maybe it is not working....but it all adds up to an amazing time.
