Apex hotel second road

Stayed for 2 days in 2002.I stayed in the section

that has the elevator.

I think 550 baht is the price for an AC room.

Great breakfast buffet for about 110 baht,

you don't need to be a guest for the buffet though.

 

If were not for the noisey air conditioners it would

be a great value for baht hotel .

They installed the compressor contactor for the window

AC units along the wall in a plastic electrical box.

 

The fan runs all the time and when the t-stat calls for cooling

a very loud "thwock" noise occurs inside that box. It will ruin

your nights sleep.

 

They have other rooms out by their pool. Never looked at those.

I stayed there in Mar 2006, Sep - Oct 2006, and Jan - Mar 2007.

 

Good location

 

Cheap. 500 baht a night. 3 of the rooms are 450 baht a night.

 

Front section is about 5 - 6 years old. It has gone down hill fast. They have not painted the room or cleaned the carpet since it was new. Some rooms have torn carpet.

 

Blanket on bed usually has a hole in it.

 

Air conditioner is noisey.

 

Bathroom has no shower curtain. The floor and toilet get wet. Water pressure not consistant. They do have an outside water heater instead of the one that hangs on the wall.

 

In room safe with key. You have to find a place to hide your key.

 

Cable TV with a few English speaking channels.

 

I never had anything stolen from my room.

 

Cleaning staff varies. I had dead ants on the bathroom counter for 3 days.

 

Swimming pool is beside the buffet, so you have an audience when you swim.

 

Girl friendly. I saw one guy bring 3 girls in at one time.

 

They have security cameras in the halls.

 

Most of the staff usually friendly, but they do have their bad days.

 

Staff are not allowed to be with customers. You have to meet the girls outside and find a short time hotel. Some will sneak into your room.

 

It is a cheap and safe dump.

For 500 - 600 bt you could stay around the corner in LK Metro complex, where they have nice clean rooms, have showers that work ,you can sleep at night as rooms quiet and have working air con.

 

Dont be drawn into Apex as on Secong Rd, look a few yards around the corner.
