I am arriving at BKK in June, what should I have, dollars or euro? I already have some euro from last holidays so it would be easier for me to arrive with euro but not sure which of this values pays off more right now?

If your getting the currency, flying to thailand, then exchanging it. Then I don't think it makes much differance.

YOu'd be better of sticking to your own currency as you'd lose more in changing money twice.

If your thinking of buying foreign currency now and holding it until you get there, then the dollar would probably be the best bet. Lot of people moving their moeny into dollars right now.

The Euro looks like it will have more trouble ahead with the greek crisis and so many european economies in trouble.

personally i'd just bring your own currency when you head out and not think to much about it.

But if your from a euro country then maybe buying some dollar now could save a little.

As I understand your post, you have some Euro left over from a prior trip, but it is not necessarily the currency used in your country?

If so, I would take the Euro and exchange it for baht; then top off with whatever currency you typically use.

If you try to change the Euro back to whatever you changed for them (let's say dollars), then you are going to take a big hit. You're still going to take a hit to change the Euro to baht, but I think the hit is a little less.

That is correct euro is not used in Poland. So you all think I should stick to my country value? (which is PLN, 1USD = 3.3PLN or 1E = 4.1PLN)

Also should I change it to baht before flight in my country or in Thailand? I guess there are some exchange points at bkk airport too.

Most economic commentators expect the euro to depreciate against the dollar even more over the coming months, given the problems with some of the European countries particularly Greece. So I would hold on to your dollars and ditch those euros as soon as possible....

Either are easily exchangeable in Pattaya.

So I have about 650 euro in cash which I am planning to take with myself. And the rest of money on card (visa electron) in my own value (PLN). Is that okay? Do I have to show that I am in possesion of any money at the airport If I will be on tourist visa?

Its possible but highly unlikely with a tourist visa. In all my trips over the past 30+ years Ive never been asked to show how much money I have (Not even when I arrived with a 1yr Student visa). If by the remote chance they ask Im sure credit cards will suffice. I wouldn't worry about it.

I wish the exchange rate for the AUD was good in the LOS, unfortunately it's shit at the moment.
