I contacted Kevin Meacher back in February or march after seeing the completed penthouse pics he posted and inquired about a long stay from May 1 to June 3. Kevin responded within hours and let me know that the penthouse was available from May 1 to May 20th and that he could put me in a suite room for the remainder of my stay and the cost would be 34000 baht. The email was very detailed about paying upon check in and even listed the guest breakfast menu.

 

Right before my my trip I realized I could take off a few days earlier and emailed Kevin again to get another 2 nights. He respnoded again within hours that it wouldn't be a problem. He had a guest in the penthouse on the first night of my arrival so would give me a standard double with balcony and although he usually leaves a days downtime for the penthouse between guests to make sure everything is taken care of and in working condition he would get me into the penthouse my second day.

 

I arrived on April 29th at 7:30 and they were ready for me. I met the owners Kevin and Jin and they got me sorted in no time. I asked them if it was ok if I paid 20k baht today and the balance tomorrow as I wasn't sure how my credit card was going to handle the rate transfer. They had no problem with this and waived the 1k baht deposit seeing as I was using a credit card. There was a small fee for using the credit card but that was no big deal to me....and as you'll see later I got more than that back from Kevin and Jin. Total for 5 weeks was 36k baht

 

My first night I stayed in a standard double with balcony and to be honest I didn't take pics because the camera was packed and I took a shower and was out on the town by 8:30 and didn't get back till 4am. Have no illusions the room is small but it is exactly as it appears on the Jasmine mansion website and would be fine to stay in for a while. Personally for a long stay I would want a suite or the penthouse.

The one pic I didn't get was of the laundry room that is down from the entrance to the penthouse. During the day there are staff on the penthouse floor doing laundry and drying towels and sheets. They were quiet my whole stay never waking me once. By 4pm or so they are done for the day and the penthouse floor is very private and you have the terrace completely to yourself. There is a cctv camera as you enter onto the penthouse floor aimed at the steps down and only the steps.

 

If you can't handle steps then the penthouse won't be for you as it is quite a few steps to the top but they didn't bother me or any of my guests.

 

On the 20th of may I moved down to a suite room as the penthouse was booked and I will post the suite room right after this post.

 

I remembered at this time I would need a late checkout and asked Kevin if it was possible to do a 8pm checkout and what the extra cost would be. He said he would let me know the next morning as he was leaving for the night. The next morning he said it was no problem and there would be no extra charge.

 

The next night my aircon froze up in the suite room and they had someone look at it during the day while I was out...came back and it was fixed. Jin gave me the keys and I headed up but she mistakenly gave me the penthouse keys as thats where she remembers me being...I come down to gt the suite keys and she politely scolds me to call down from the penthouse to have someone bring keys up if it should happen I get the wrong key. Then Kevin remarks " If you like you can move back to the penthouse as the guest that booked was a no show. I dreaded repacking and moving back but on my way up I thought about it and told teelac to start packing and I would sort the key. Came down and told Kevin I would take him up on the penthouse offer if it was still free ( free as in American slang for still available) Kevin didn't miss the chance to rib Americans for wanting a freebie. Kevin grabbed the key for the penthouse and I asked how much more for my last 13 nights.....Kevin remarked that the price would be 395 baht...exactly the price of my new book which has just arrived a book I was going to buy anyway. Thats twice now that he could have charged me extra and I would have gladly payed extra.

 

Kevin and Jin were on the premises daily and they always asked how everything was and how my holiday was going and if I had any questions they were quick and helpful.

 

The staff was great ...always smiling and helpful and very respectful to the few ladies I brought back and especially to one lady I spent well over 3 days with.

 

The Full of beans cafe has great food and I ate there more than a few times. Breakfast is included in the room price if you are up before 1 ( I usually wasn't) but there is a 30 baht service charge if you want it brought to the room and let me tell you making small Thai girls hump trays all the way up to the penthouse is worth the 30 baht. Room service was good anytime during the day just don't let your teelac and reception discuss in Thai breakfast as you might end up with cheeseburgers at 8am instead of cheese omelets but that too was sorted and omelets were on the table when I got out of the shower.

 

I can honestly say I had no problems other than the aircon in the suite going down which was sorted straight away. I think I got more than what I payed for and Highly recommend the Jasmine Mansion. It's located on soi Boukow right up by LK Metro which is a great spot to stay as its central to everything.

 

Another thing I noted during my stay was the fact that when a guest checked out Kevin personally inspected the room and made sure everything was ready for the next guest including touching up paint....

 

I don't know Kevin or Jin other than just meeting them and what I've written is just my personal opinion....I think I got maximum value for my baht and I will most definitely stay there again and hopefully soon ...if they have a free room

I also stayed in suite room 404 for 2 days. A very nice room...well outfitted and a very comfortable bed ( the penthouse bed was very comfortable as well )

Stayed there once, loved it, had a small prob with tiny ants biting me, eventually spotted the little bastards coming down the wall just by my bed. Was just unlucky though, and the place was spotless and would stay again.

I stayed at the Jasmine Mansion this past February and had the time of my life in Pattaya. Kevin, Jin and their whole hotel staff were a really big part of it also. I highly recommend their hotel to anyone who goes to Pattaya!

i stayed ther for about 17 days in may and it was great. kevin and jin were wonderful they were extremely helpfull in arranging a short trip to the embassy in bangkok, i would not have expected that level of service from such a small ( sorry modest) hotel. the staff were super friendly and really fun to talk with. i recommend the hotel to anyone who is traveling budget consciense as this hotel is an amazeing value for the money.

No problems whatsoever. They take in IDs. I stayed 8 nights in a room with balcony (nr 302, sweet memories...). Staff very friendly. Cook and handy man regularly beat me at pool while tilac was still sleeping I didn't have breakfast there as it's American and I rather have Thai food in Thailand.

 

I'll definitely be back next time!

I stayed there Feb 2007 in a standard room. Had a great time, no problems and no complaints of any sort. I really don't think Kevin has a life away from the hotel as he seems to always be there. This is a wonderful place to stay.

87 stairs - wide and well lit plus not too steep. When I had a flirtation with getting fit I would walk up and down the stairs from Lobby to Penthouse 5 times in one go hence I have the number well ingrained!!

 

The last three months have been exceptional. Including advance bookings for rest of this month the occupancy rate for period 1/9/07 to 30/11/07 is at 91% so thank you to every person who has been here and those of you who are booked in for the future.

 

Someone made a comment regarding payment in advance. Let me clarify our policy here. We take payment in advance if this is your first visit but for a second or subsequent trip it is your choice to either pay in advance or when you depart or anytime between the two. You can also elect to pay by CC and simply leave us details of your card on arrival and settle up when you leave. As an alternative you can pay as you go, i.e. day by day, although you do not have the guarantee of a booking beyond the date paid up to nor the benefit of any discounted rates that may be available for a particular length of stay. Whichever way you look at it I hope you would agree that we endeavour to be as flexible as possible, whilst obviously protecting ourselves.

 

We are also now being as flexible as possible on check-in and check-out times. I try to ascertain approximate arrival and departure times when guests make a reservation. This means we can often agree an early check-in or late check-out WITHOUT an additional charge. This is obviously not always possible especially at the busiest times but we are doing our best to assist our guests. Even if the room allocated is not ready for an early arriving guest should we have a vacant room we will allow them use of that room to shower, sleep etc. whilst awaiting the availability of their allocated room.

 

Our policy on payments has been reviewed as well. If you book and pay for a room but then decide for whatever reason you wish to go elsewhere your balance of money paid will be FULLY refunded. However, if you have been offered a discounted rate due to the length of your stay this will be changed to the applicable daily rate for the duration of your time with us. Again flexible and, I think, fair on all concerned.

 

We are most certainly not perfect but both Jin and I care deeply and we listen to what people say and do our very best to adapt to the needs of our customers. We have now been fully operational for three years, we had no prior experience of this business and have made mistakes along the way. However, we have learned a considerable amount during this period and continue to do so and where we have erred we have been quick to change things.

 

In the next month or so I will be positing details of 2008 SPECIAL OFFERS. These will be for APRIL 2008 and from JULY to SEPTEMBER 2008. If you are already thinking of visiting during these times next year please let me know and I will send details of these promotions as best I can at this stage.

 

Finally I want to thank the Pattaya Addicts forum. I keep detailed statistics on where our customers hear about us. The majority of guests are returning customers/recommendation by a previous guest. However close to 20% first learn of Jasmine Mansion through the various forums and of these Pattaya Addicts leads the way by a large margin. So thank you all.

I have stayed at Jasmine Mansion as well.

Very friendly staff. I locked up my safe once and Kevin helped me instantly. He does not give out those keys to the staff for security reasons.

The electronic door is a good idea so that nobody can enter the premises without permission.

The rooms are clean and affordable.

Would recommend it to everyone and get back to those rooms as soon as I come back to Pattaya.

Kevin, could you send me the promotion details cuz I will probably be around for songkran for 3 weeks with a mate.

I have got to admit 87 stairs is not going to be for everyone BUT the Penthouse was opened on 9/12/2006 and between then and 8/12/2007 there are a total of 18 vacant days out of 365 (i.e. full over 95%) making it our most popular room for the past year. 2008 has a total of over 4 months bookings already from guests who stayed in 2007 and have re-booked. What tends to happen is the guests in the Penthouse do not spend all day going up and down the stairs but take advantage of the facilities it has to offer - then order room service and get a member of our staff to walk up and down with food happily forking out the B30 room service supplement!!! I would do exactly the same!

 

For April 2008 special deal I will reply in the next 24-48 hours but have to clear my ideas with Mrs Boss or I am dead meat!! I would like to make it clear that although their will be a special offer at this time generally the deal for Addicts members only will be better as part of my thank you to this forum.

just came back from los. and i stay at jasmine mansion... the people/workers are great i must say.. always have a smile on there face... the locatione is good too. cause you are basicaly right in the middle of everything.. you even have bars and a couple of gogos right next to you.. so good location and a friendly place.. no joiners fee and some of the workers are very cute too..555( the late night staff, have no idea how old one of the girl is but dame is she cute!! ) ok missing los already..
