Omni tower - Bangkok - Sukhumvit soi 4

The Omni has been my place of choice for my past 10 or so trips. No problem with guests although they started taking ID cards at the elevator a few years back. Thats not a bad thing I guess. It doesn't bother me.

 

The pool is very small but is rarely busy. I reckon that most residents are working during the day and mongers are either sleeping off the night before or out mongering.

 

Location is great....a cigarette away from NEP.

 

A farang was murdered there a year or so ago by a BG. I think it was a BG, could have been a LB. I forget.

Changed room from Town lodge to omni because i didnt like town lodge a bit. Town lodge was way too noisy from the lobby bar and not good security.

 

Im staying at the syncate part of omni now and i can say that syncate gives much better rooms and service than ascott. I have a 1br executive with everything newly refurbished, have 2 TV while one of them is LCD. Get real non blocked private ADSL internet connection, so u can easily use VoIP. Only hassle was to find towels, because i was told they have towel machine on floor 8... that seem not to be true, could not find it. So had to go out on street look for shop that have towel. Cleaning 2 times per week. Apartment about 60 sqm, all rooms have very nice view of the city from the window. I pay 35000baht/month for this. He also showed me a studio thats about 23000baht per month, only difference is that studio is little bit smaller and no kitchen, but have microwave only. The studio had LCD tv also and newly refurbished, i think good value for the money.

 

Tonight the lady thats staying with me will try to bring 5 of her lady friends, i wonder what security say about this. But i hope its not a problem. Planning a small cometogether party in my room

stayed there in octorber this year great location omni tower is as a newbie to bkk i coulnt get lost.When hitting nana plaza great rooms if i can remember the beds are 40ft square and very lady friendly just got pay for there breakfast as there web site suggest which tickles me and they do take id cards of the ladys at the enterance to the lift thumbs up for this hotel

Bringing these ladies where no problems at all. We go out on soi yippun partying later...hmm... close to thong loo, have so many japanese places. I can recommend anyone using syncate services, better managed than ascott and give better service also. Syncate is owned by an arab guy thats quiet nice, he always give you cold drinks when going to his office. They also have very competetive daily prices wich include daily maid service, i think that paying for daily stay at syncate part of omni is even better than staying at dynasty grande. Because omni is even more guest friendly

This is the 1 bedroom executive through syncate, newly refurbished. 1 Bedroom with separate livingroom, kitchen and bathroom with bathtub.

Very Nice like the one in the middle Just wondering how much english is spoken in Bangkok ? How safe is it to leave your valuables in your room-safe ? Also for food is it cheaper to buy grocery or eat out ? Like I was saying I live a healthy bodybuilding lifestyle and eat 6-8 times ed so a good hardcore gym is a must .(Like a Golds Gym type not those state of the art machines overpriced gyms)

If you're going to stay at the Omni I'd suggest you first become an Ascott Club member. It's free to join and gives you a slight discount on the room.

I tried to book 1 month at the Omni in a studio suite (normal rate 21000b inc internet) but was told 'no more monthly rate' on the studios. Of course I was offered a 1br suite for 28000b + elec/water/internet OR a studio for 1300b per night (hotel rate).

 

Oh well.

1300 a night is a great rate for the Omni. So is 28K per month for a one bedroom.

It's a shame they did that. Omni tower is getting a bit old these days. There must be newer places at similar prices for the monthly rate.

Stayed for 4 nights last year. Room wasn't too bad although fridge didn't work. The TG I was with was not impressed with bed as it was very squeaky when pressed into action. Very good location though.

I had a 6 month rental at Omni tower about 3 years ago. If memory serves it was about 15k a month for a studio apt.

Excellent place with nice pool and basic gym facilites.

Very girl friendly, towards the end of my stay they started putting security guards at the elevator to check ID's in then to ring the guest on the way out to make sure everything was ok.

Good location less than 5 mins walk to and from nana plaza but always had motorbike taxis and normal taxi's waiting outside.

 

Dealt with Paul Porntip in the office there and he was nice enough to help me et my room set up with DSL. At the time there was no wifi in the building, might have changed now.

 

The one thing that is important to check there is the widely differing quality of the rooms. I got a nice one but my friend ended up with a real roach motel. Make sure you check very carefully the actual room you are renting beforehand.

 

An added bonus is they had an onsite massage place where you could get in room massages and also a nice little travel agency which got me a very cheap ticket home at the end of my stay.

 

Anyone know if the in-room massages are full-service? If you have had one, please share your thoughts!

If they are - they're too expensive. Pick your own. You won't have to look far. I've found Omni to be hit or miss. 1 time I got a huge refurbished 1bd and an old dumpy studio the other. wj
