Omni tower - Bangkok - Sukhumvit soi 4

Want to recommend omni tower on sukhumvit soi 4 in bangkok. They are very girl friendly, didnt even have anything to say about me bringing 4 thai ladies to my room at the same time. Paid about 20000 baht per week for a 1 bedroom deluxe apartment with separate living area and kitchen. Its a serviced apartment, so its like living on hotel but with kitchen.

Ok about Omni Tower, but ... what about the 4 ladies ? Do you have also some pix of them ? Thanks !

I have stayed there for a period on my last 6 trips. Swimming pool is very good, fitness centre ok. Only downside is beakfast which is meagre. Plenty of space in the rooms but I can only manage 1 friend at a time. :Hair_Out1:

last feb me and my mate stayed there in a 2 bedroom executive suite, expensive but who cares ?, it was shit hot !.

6 minutes and 44 seconds from the lobby to the door of rainbow 1 at a brisk pace.

Anyone considering a long term rental at the Omni should be sure to check with the office on the premises. Individual owners will often have units for long term rent at a rate much less that what is quoted online. The Omni would be a nice place to stay for six months or so. I might just do it in the fall.

Its a very good long term choice to stay in omni. But also if you need big space in short term for many ladies, its great.

Would like to say also, its possible to view the entrance cameras in the lobby from the room. If someone is looking for you, ie some old thai girlfriend that found out about you. You can first turn on the TV on the last channel in the list for security cameras, and see who it is waiting for you in the lobby. Security guy dont let anyone alone without a keycard into the elevator room.

Was considering Omni myself for a weeks stay next month, however 20000 Baht is quiet pricey.

Are there any better deals to be had for a weekly stay in serviced apartments at Omini or similar to Omni nearby?

Appreciate any other suggestions!

Thanks!

Unless you actually get a serviced apartment or condo I don't think you will find any cheaper in Bangkok. And as far as I know most of the Serviced Apartments are outside of the beaten path. So take your choice. I just looked at Swiss Grottino which has a cheaper daily rate but the monthly is 2 1/2 time more than 20 K. You should ask

http://www.livingstones.co.th/boutique-lodge/index.php#rates

The last time I did they told me about discounts for long stays not posted on their site. Though I still think you will find it much more than your 20K. This ain't Patt's. YMMV

For instance you can look somewhere like Centerpoint and the cheapest is Petchaburi which is a decent amount away right across of Panthip.

http://www.centrepoint.com/Locations/Apart...Rates.aspx#0001

You will still be paying 30K plus a month.

Or you can always do the very difficult task of typing 'serviced apartments in bangkok' in google or a search engine I know it is difficult though. :Hug1:

Thanks CB,

Swiss Grottino is actually my favorite place, quiet and top location, however big MINUS is missing pool.

Livingstones looks fine, should give it a shot for a night or two.

What i am looking for is a quiet place, where you can shut curtains, without letting any sunshine through and sleep till late in day without any interruption of maids, yelling "Clean Loom"and so on, or an old air con system giving you ahead ache, it should be quiet all day and right between Nana and Asoke with a nice pool...looks like a though one.

NP, at Swiss you won't have the light issue cause the shutters are wooden. Though you should know if you stayed there previously. I agree that SG not having a pool kinda sucks, but depends how much you will use it. In your case it seems a lot.

One option to try is using the 'do not disturb' sign, if you don't have one upon entering your room ask for one. If you think you'll be too 'busy' to remember before sleeping put the sign out before you leave.

Second part for light, try carrying some paper clips or something. I have not had an issue with this before, however after reading a few people on a few forums talk about this I plan to take some clips with me next time, in case.

Third for the squeaky air conditioning it's a hit or miss, can't really help you there. You should try talking to the hotel management and see if they can get you another room or send someone up to fix the AC (doubt it in LOS though).

I haven't stayed there but maybe Majestic Suites though I think you need to book the double deluxe for a decent sized room or I heard they are kinda small. If the distance to Sukhumvit is not that big of an issue, you can look at that newer hotel Le Finix which still shows some pretty decent rates since the hotel is still new.

How does that work with paper clips? Are you kidding?

I know about wooden shutters at Swiss, they're great and so is anything else at Grottino, great location, discreet and lots of privacy, plus it is always a nice walk back from Nana, leaving plenty of time for a night cap or for some fresh pickings on way back to room... oh well LOS.... land of options and opportunities...got to luv it. :)

No I"m not kidding, if you can't figure that out you obviously do not study rocket science. :D I haven't even tried it yet but it's pretty self explanatory and that's how I figured it out. You can also use those clips you squeeze to hold larger numbers of paper together. Same way a paper clip works, to clip paper together. The curtain's meet at a point. Much thicker than paper so you should either use the extra large ones, or those clips.

You should check out Town Lodge - at the end of Soi 18 - which is just above Asoke. They have one of those oversize golf carts to run you around 24 hours a day.

How much is the town lodge?

Id agree with the previous poster that swiss grottino is well located and an excellent hotel. Usually fully booked though, so book early.

I had a 6 month rental at Omni tower about 3 years ago. If memory serves it was about 15k a month for a studio apt.

Excellent place with nice pool and basic gym facilites.

Very girl friendly, towards the end of my stay they started putting security guards at the elevator to check ID's in then to ring the guest on the way out to make sure everything was ok.

Good location less than 5 mins walk to and from nana plaza but always had motorbike taxis and normal taxi's waiting outside.

Dealt with Paul Porntip in the office there and he was nice enough to help me et my room set up with DSL. At the time there was no wifi in the building, might have changed now.

The one thing that is important to check there is the widely differing quality of the rooms. I got a nice one but my friend ended up with a real roach motel. Make sure you check very carefully the actual room you are renting beforehand.

An added bonus is they had an onsite massage place where you could get in room massages and also a nice little travel agency which got me a very cheap ticket home at the end of my stay.

I had a seven month rental about the same time I paid 13,500 a month for my studio. Not to a male but to two sister's who worked in the lower level of the lobby, for a law firm .
