In the early hours of Sunday Morning, the Insomnia Nightclub located on Walking Street was once again the target of a Police raid. Officers from Pattaya Police, Chonburi Provincial Police and the Narcotics Suppression Bureau were involved in the raid which saw the club closed down and a random selection of patrons and staff members subjected to urine tests. At the end of the operation a total of 35 people were arrested, which included 6 male staff members, 4 female coyote dancers and 25 female patrons. Foreign patrons were not tested and were allowed to leave. Contrary to reports by other media outlets this was a one-off raid and will not result in the closure of Insomnia which was open for business on Sunday Night as normal. This is the fourth major raid of Insomnia in the last few months and each time arrests in connection with the use of drugs have been made but on each occasion the nightclub did not face any problems with the licensing authorities.
