A favourite of mine too. I've eaten this in lots of places and it's simple fayre, a pretty hard dish to fuck up really. Hole in the wall, Soi Buakhow is pretty good but I don't think I've had a bad one anywhere. A small Thai eatery on Soi Honey Inn is good too, next door to the first bar on the right as your walking down to second rd.

Sort of like asking what is the best fish and chips in the UK. The best place is 30 baht plus 5 baht for a fried egg but I can't tell you where it is.

That would have to be 99% of any locals with a wok, it's a very basic & easy dish for them to cook.

Next time you order one, ask them to add mushrooms (sai head dua), tastes even better.

I think it's done quite well at Kiss Food. I've always quite liked the Thai food there though the Western food is another matter.

All the tourist aimed food at Kiss Restaurant is a joke, including the Thai meals.

If you eat at the Kiss branch on the Darkside the difference will astound you.

Cheers, I used to live on the darkside (not for years though), where is the 'Kiss' there? I'll have to try it. I really like some of the Thai food at Kiss, corner of Soi Diana Inn/2nd Road, especially the krapow kai/muu, and I love their muu thawt krathiam phrik Thai. The plates of rice should be bigger though.

About 2 kilometres down Soi Siam Country Club on the right hand side. Next to the sauna and massage.

What is that?

Pork fried with lots of garlic and pepper. It's deliscious with rice and they do it really well at Kiss Food.

I'll have a guess, deep fried pork with garlic and chillies.

No chillies...'phrik Thai' is pepper as opposed to just 'phrik' which is chillies

Sounds delicious. How can fried + pork not be great?! I'll be staying near Kiss Food and will give this dish a try.

Many places fuck it up by putting sugar in.

you said the same thing about the hamburger buns at Bob's BBQ. I guess I smoke too much but can't taste the sugar in either one

I would give this place a miss and head over the Lengkee on Pattaya Klang, open 24 hours and much better food.

Hey mate

Not too sure about that particular dish but have had some great Thai food from the Sailor Bar on Soi 8. They have a restaurant attached to the bar and always enjoyed the cheap food and good service!!!

I got a pizza once and they'd put sugar all over the top of it.

well, scince the topic is where to find the best gapaow gai i must tell you about this place on Phratamnak Road (the extention on 2nd road, towards the hill)

Its a really small place, on the right side when you go towards the hill, think there is only one restaurant there so i guess you cant get it wrong,it was the best I have eaten so far:) too bad i got it the last week in pattaya, but im for sure going back there!

now when i think about it i should make it my first meal in thailand next trip!

Always found that street vendors usually do a good job. My favourite dish too so will be keeping an eye out this trip.
