Low Season Prices !

Anyone noticed or is it just me ??? prices are up for low season !

 

I booked LK Metropole superior for 33k 15 nights but decided a suite much better which i got for an extra 300 baht a night seemed fair 7 april busy for songkran...now i have tried to book same room again in LOW SEASON and they want 44k for 17 nights !! wtf ! I have e mailed and asked they reconsider or i will rebook elsewhere but i like the LK, great big bed...ok pool etc...anyone got any observations.. is it the its quiet so put the prices up Thai mentality in action again or am i missing something...tried a few all seem to be putting prices up.

 

I have stayed in the baboona beach in earlier trips,just like the diana vibe and nearby eateries so lk was perefect...anyone got any suggestions i will be arriving on 3rd in patts and around for 17 days or so always pay be mastercard/visa need a bit of creature comforts , big bed , nice bathroom etc and a pool around the 2/3k mark a night is fine.

I had a similar problem, I always stayed at the LK Renaissance and loved the Soi Diana/LK Metro area. I emailed and they were out of Deluxe rooms this week which I found odd for low season.

 

Other board members recommended the August Suites. I have to say I'm very impressed. Nice, new, comfortable hotel, met all of my needs, and the bed is way better!

 

I still like the LK Ren, and the area, but I am still exploring what's around the August Suites.

 

At 1500/night I will have a hard time justifying going back to the LK, it really adds up and It's nice to have extra money for other things

It will be my third time (in a year)to Pattaya and I was going to go in August but the rates went up $30 (US) a night. I thought the summer was the low season. Was I wrong or did they go up because of the Red Shirts? I have stayed at the same hotel both times, the Amari Nova Suites, and relly wanted to stay there again. I live in Hawaii and it is nicer than any 5 star hotel here. Does anyone believe the prices will go back down? Thanks for the help this site is extremly helpful for us newbies.

On Agoda, you can get a standard room with breakfast at the LK for about 1700B($52) a night right now. A studio is about 220B more.

 

17 days at that rate would be about 29,000B for the standard room, 33,000 for the studio.

Looking at prob staying at the baboona now room 604 top sea view deluxe..nice hotel NO POOL tho which is a pain...1800 baht

 

Its really the LK Metropole I wanted,location,pool etc with a 1 bed suite but asking far too much and now wont even answer my e mails which again is sad as i spent a lot of cash there a few weeks ago

well my fellow addicts the world has gone nuts....decided i may take tilac up to chang rai so did the trip advisor stuff and found a tent at four seasons with elephants etc up country sounded great....55k for 17 nights was the search result i was about to book thought what the hell BUT NO its 55k a night !! fook me

 

four seasons tented hotel chang rai...take a peep...not in this lifetime !! 55k a night for basic tent room in a Jungle fookin ell !!

The 2 room prices i posted earlier are the two top of the range LK Renaissance rooms, with standard and studio rooms cheaper.

 

hotel gets nothing but rave reviews on this site, has pool, girl friendly, its an LK property (same chain) and as for location, still in Soi Diane about 200 mtrs towards 2nd road from Metropole. Better location wise, than Baboona.
