Recommendations for LK Ren Fan

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I know we get bombarded on here for hotel recommendations. I don't mean to start just another general thread, but I believe mine is somewhat more specific.

I've been staying at the LK Renaissance in a Deluxe room and have been very happy. I'm trying to pull together a last minute trip for next week and they do not have any Deluxe rooms available. I need a deluxe as I need a proper shower not just the tub as they have in Studio and Superior rooms.

So my quest starts to find reasonable accommodations for next week. I'm used to paying 2500/night in high season. I was hoping to pay less in low season, but since I am only coming for a week my budget can be more flexible.

What I am looking for

- I like the Soi Diana Area, but not locked to it, I do need to be on a bhat bus route.

- I MUST have a good internet connection in the room (this is a reason I am not leaning towards Tim Boutique as you have to pay by the hour and It's only spotty Wi-Fi if I remember right)

- Girl Friendly of course :-)

- Pool, Since it is hot season I would like a nice pool.

- In room safe that fits a 15'' Mac Book.

- Other then that I would just like to maintain the same quality level of hotel that the LK Ren is.

I will continue to read the reviews of other hotels on the forum, but If anyone has any suggestions it would be much appreciated as time is also of the essence.

Thanks in advance.

Hi

I can recommend 3-Som Guest-House on LK Metro (between Rock Bar & Lolits BJ bar). Of course it's a different type of accommodation to the LK Ren.

Its relatively cheap, clean, & with friendly staff. No problems at all. Both Dan & Fa have been very helpful to me.

On my next trip (once UK Foreign Office permit travel to Thailand) I intend to stay there again.

Thanks for the quick replies.

I've since read many reviews about the August Suites. Sounds pretty good. A little further away but it might be fun to check out a new area.

Tony thanks for the recommendation. I've actually booked the 3-som guesthouse for friends in the past. They are very friendly there but I'm looking for a little more upscale, especially since I'm only here a week.

I'm going to keep reading reviews, but if anyone else has any suggestions on hotels that could rival the LK Ren it would be much appreciated.

They did not respond to my emails so I phoned. I got a standard room for 1500/night no breakfast. May 1 - 10. Do you think this price was ok?
