How would one write Karma in Thai? Im talking about just the general idea of Karma. Neither good nor bad.

That's correct. However it's pronounced 'kam' not 'krum'....it's just one of those weird Thai spellings.

Correct. I just tried to adjust the pronounciation to the majority of English speakers here, who pronounce in some cases the U as an A such as in “hut” while in Thai or German it will be pronounced as an A like in “hard”.

  • 3 weeks later...

just a note.

"karma" is a Sanscrit word, pronounced pretty much as you read it.

"kamma" is the Pali language equivalent used by Theravada Buddhism,

pronounced more like "kumma", a short "a".

maybe try to find it written in Pali,

that would be very obscure.

My point was that whether you pronounce it as a 'u' or an 'a' the 'r' in กรรม (Kam =Karma)is not pronounced even though the Thai character 'ร' Roo Ruea, which sounds like our 'r' is present. It's silent in this word.
