sorry to be a lazy ass but this is my first day back at work and i'm wasting time looking for cheap december flights when some more experienced travellers could probably tell me the cheapest places to look!

 

Ideally direct but I would settle for one stop flights if the savings were great.

 

Also, when is the cheapest to fly? does the day of the week matter?

 

 

please help me out guys, I'm getting withdrawals lol

Book directly with the airlines and book well in advance and you will get the best deals. I got sick of those cheap flight websites where you click the link and surprise surprise the cheap fares were all gone but they had seats for a fuckin astronomical amount. From LHR you have the greatest choice wether direct or via one stop.

I've found that you have to wait until you're within 6 months of intended flight to start catching bargains. There will always be exceptions, so figure out what you are prepared to pay and book it to avoid giving yourself a headache poring over flight comparison sites. I normally check the airline's own sites too. I'm looking for a November flight and the usual suspects are still quoting high prices and EVA aren't even quoting at all yet !

Not strictly true!!! I have booked both direct and "cheap flight websites" and find that one is not always better than the other. Some of the agents get "special deals" this can be cheaper than going direct. And as for the fares not being available, I can honestly say this has never happened to me in my dozens of flights over the years. I just paid £478.10p LHR - BKK Dec-Feb....

lol mate...I live in the North East, and this applies to Newcastle Airport too!! Its cheaper flying NCL-LHR (£84 return) and LHR-BKK (£478) than any flight NCL-BKK by nearly £200. Thats from an agent website.

It's a security, not a customs issue. The same applies to other places, such as Doha.

I've been checking flights recently one that comes up as amongst the cheapest is Kingfisher when I've checked the flight has always been cheaper on their website http://www.flykingfisher.com/ for the dates I wanted they were asking £462 return. Lhr - Bkk

 

 

Edit just checked put in 7th Dec - 7th Jan cheapest option was 7th Dec - 9th Jan £507 same flight on Ebookers £624

I feel like I got it in the old pooper. TPA (tampa fl usa)to BKK using miles from TPA to LAX and back it is $1242USD all in. And that is 22 days out and the fares just went even higher if I waited longer. Of course its high season for the airlines, and that doesn't help. I did not want to wait until sept or early nov as that is high season PATTS...sheesh can't win;)
