Information wanted and questions about shipping your stuff

Well, I will be travelling back to my country around august and am considering to send some things back home (since I not have the opportunity to

take everything with me by plane). It will mostly be clothes, a printer and other housing stuff. There is maybe more comming with that in the next couple of months.

I just tried to check the website from Thailand-post, but this one is not functioning here.

Still however I am interested in the costs about shipping this stuff to my country (the Netherlands) or Europe in general. Has anyone shipped bigger boxes

with a lot of stuff before? Which company did you use? How long did it take? And how much were the costs?

I assume that shipping by boat is much cheaper than by plane.

I've shipped boxes both with airmail and by boat to Belgium, but never anything as big as a printer, just some clothes and souvenirs. The difference is big in costs, but both arrived safely. If you are in Pattaya, there's a small postal office on Soi Bukhao, near the market and the Benelux restaurant if you are familiar with that, they are pretty good with boxes and speak reasonable english. Good luck.

Trust me, it's paradise. This is where the hungry come to feed.

For mine is a generation that circles the globe and searches for something we haven't tried before.

So never refuse an invitation, never resist the unfamiliar, never fail to be polite and never outstay the welcome.

Just keep your mind open and suck in the experience. And if it hurts, you know what? It's probably worth it.

Thanks...

but what was the price for how much kilogram you shipped? And how long took it by boat?

how much is a new printer in Holland? does not seem worth it to me. I can go anywhere in the world with 2 suitcases and some money and live for years. Better to sell it before you go.

The cost to send back some boxes via Air to your home will be pretty expensive, sea freight probably will be cheper (LCL service where you only pay a minimum) you will also need to show when to Belgium Customs (depending on the declared value of your items) that they are your own personal goods and have been owned by you(most countries will stipulate 6 - 12 months you must have owned to be comsidered 'Personal Effects')I certainly wouldnt reccommend any courier companies e.g. FedEx, DHL, UPS or TNT unless you have money to burn

It would be a safe bet to say that a new printer back home will cost you less than sending your old one back.
