I am hoping that it will not reach that point.

I am a fat kid in a sweet shop, I just cannot choose and want it all.

hopefully that won't affect other areas such as pattaya and phuket :S

hope it clears up and settles down after justing getting back next trip scheduled for July

Tittie, Tittie, Tittie

This thing has me really worried.

Preacefull protesting is one thing, even the odd schuffle with sticks and knives.

But when someone starts using a grenade launcher in the heart of the capital...

This can't continue..

Really very sad... I cannot see that shit will stop.. it will get worst, A tit for tat situations is what I can see but I,m hoping I,m wrong.. I,m very disappointed over all this silly fights... I,m worried too that I might never see Thailand for decades if the fights turned into a civil war.. It takes a long time to have a ceasefire after the civil war...

M-79's are bad dudes. I'm wondering how a few of them are floating around with the protestors??

I really do hope that this situation will stop soon as it is starting to ruin the great country that we all know. It seems like they can never get it right when it comes to an election. It seems to be that the supporters of the loosing party want to cause trouble, not very democratic IMHO

I think the government should of sorted it out weeks ago before it spread out of control.

Its still mainly south of Rama4 so Sukhumvit Rd (Nana, Soi Cowboy etc) are mostly uneffected, but who knows when it will change. On the TV I seen its starting in others cities such as Chiang Mai and Phitsanulok as well.

If it starts to spread north of Rama4 it might be time to relocate to Patts until it blows over as moving around the city will be difficult.

Farang = Walking ATM. TG's push the right buttons and money comes out. PIN = BBBJ

Just returned from a week’s hardship posting in Bangkok. No problems getting away from the airport; very few farangs in the queue for taxis and my driver said trade had all but dried up: he’d been waiting on the stand for 3 hours. Military presence on the highway into the airport was triple what it was in mid-April; now 50% lane closures on the way to the airport, with delays as a consequence.

The skytrain now closes at 8.00 p.m. That meant taxis, and the traffic was solid travelling along Sukhumvit south-east to north-west (i.e. as if from Asoke/Cowboy to Nana) in the evening: metered fares clicked up to twice the normal price; Ekamai to Nana took 50 minutes. No problems in the other direction, though entry to Soi 33 was blocked on one evening (PM Abhisit lives in the parallel Soi 31). Day and night traffic was erratic on the toll-ways once they began to be blocked by the cops and army: some days OK, others terrible – one journey that normally takes me 40 minutes took over four hours. Nana was very quiet – not one bar I went to had more than ten customers; same same Cowboy (except Tilac and Doll HOuse). On Soi 33: not one bar had more than three customers. No signs of any customer overflow from Patpong. Many of the girls have decided to stay up-country post-Songkran: with very few bar-fines, drink commissions and tips coming in but room rent to pay, it doesn't make financial sense to come to work.
