Have stayed at Areca 5 times - Good hotel , good staff ( most )great position , girl friendly - 1 free extra's 300 baht per guest. Evergreen wing - new so is quite nice.

Rate includes breakfast which sounds good - the reality is I have only eaten a couple of times - usually if Im coming home after 7am - otherwise sleep past 10.30am

Could do alot worse than the Areca Roger Lambert.

Do yourself a favour mate and change your request to the areca wing - much bigger, brighter rooms, even though older than corona wing which is now dingy and in shadow from the evergreen wing opposite..

He is spot on. I was on the evergreen side. Rooms are nice and comfortable, great location and quiet if you need to rest. Staff was nice and attentive. Seem like very good rates right now.

I am a fat kid in a sweet shop, I just cannot choose and want it all.

hi mate. i emailed them and asked to change from corona wing to areca wing. they said that would be fine but i have booked 2 rooms (one double for me and a twin for the 2 lads) i asked for an adjoining room so my youngest is only in the next room. apparantley areca do not have these special rooms but corona do so i will have to stick to the original plan. will remember for when i come back in july though... cheers

If you like the younger girls be aware that Areca doesn't allow overnight visitors aged less than 20.

is this for certain! why would they do that, hardly a good marketing strategy

has anyone any experience of this happening

Many reports about their age policy on this and other forums. As to why they do it - I have no idea, but it would (and has) certainly put me off staying there, although at least my regular Pattaya BF has now turned 20!
