A few mates will be in Pattaya in June. They have asked me about the Diana Inn. Anybody stayed there?

:GoldenSmile1: Great place to stay in a good area, the new wing rooms are best, pricier but worth it . but the other rooms are also good but cheaper. The pool area is great very chilled out and drinks and food are cheap.breakfast is also very good and is included in cost of room. :DeadHorse2:

i have stayed there about 10 times and would recommend the diana the poolside wing is very good and the staff are as nice as you will find anywhere in pattaya as well as that you are just five mins from Walking Street and soi7 bars and the devils den is just up the road your pals will have a great time if they stay there

Diana does not have lift but is only 4 floors. New Pool wing is the best. Have stayed at Lek and Diana. (Diana many times). Diana is better by far in my opinion. Good breakfast included too. Great position for all the action. The old pool wing and main hotel rooms are a bit tired and dark but good sized. Very friendly staff. It really is a good place to stay but I know there are better rooms to be had than the older rooms in Diana. Great pool. The position makes up for most failings.

Stayed 2 years ago. While it was not bad (990 including breakfast), I did not find the quality of the rooms to be any better than the rooms at AA hotel (800, no breakfast)or Honey Lodge (600 no breakfast) both of which have better locations (in my opinion). I think there is better value out there, but Old Diana is still a reliable choice.

mmmmmmmmmm i must be the decenting voice im afraid

the diana inn is nothing more than ok.

the new pool wing is indeed better than the old rooms which are 10 years past a required renovation.

the staff appear friendly until you have any issue regarding money.

i have written before about how they operate any many added theyre stories which were similar.

they try and rip you off at every opportunity from mini bars to electric meters on month stays to keeping deposits.

one of the favourites is adding a credit card surcharge of 5% which is actually illegal in Thailand.

there are many many better places for the same or less money.

Is Honey Lodge the same as Honey Inn?

No. Honey Lodge is on Pattaya Tai across from Subway near the entrance to Walking Street. You have to call to reserve. It is not nice nice by any means, but for 600 including pool it is one of the better deals in Pattaya. No internet though...so I decided to do LK Metro for the first time when I come back in July.

Ok Sporran2 - I must say that in 10 visits to Diana I have never once had a problem with staff, bills or money. I do take the point about rooms in need of renovation in the old wing. You say that there are better places for same money or less. I am certainly interested to know of any that have as good a pool and as good a location. It is good that you have followed your experiences and told it like you found it, rather than just agree with everyone else but I would genuinely like to hear any suggestions you have.

I know a few people who stay there who pop in for books or a breaky and never heard a bad word about the place.

I stayed at the Diana Inn once for more than a month and did not have any problems like this. It was completely ok and the staff was friendly.
