Photo Resizing Compulsory Gadget

Please keep in mind I have very little knowledge of computer programmes / terminology etc but........

With the technology available today why cant Pattaya Addicts put a block on the size of photos being uploaded to threads?.

I have a brand new reasonably powerful lap top and the powerful-est T-Stick I can buy but still my computer locks up and will not download some of the photos on this site.

Surely there would be a programme that would block files that are too large to upload and then immediately direct you to a resizing tool/pop up/page to reduce the file to an acceptable/optimal size?.

Just a thought!.

Agree with you there Roverman...same problem here with a very good laptop. What you are suggesting can be done as I am sure I have been on other sites where they tell you the max file size in Kb that can be uploaded and block the upload if the size is exceeded. As a suggestion, when posting pics down by the 'attach file' button is there could be posted a link to a free re-sizing program (there are loads of them) as well as a warning as to file size.

For quick resizing without using another program I suggest installing Image Resizer Powertoy Clone for Windows.

My link

This is a Vista version of the old XP powertoy and once installed adds a resize option when you right click on a photo. Just select all the photos to be resized by holding Ctrl and clicking the pics, right click, select resize (medium seems OK) and bingo! Works well and very easy, best of all...free!!

Cheers,

I would love this too - my connection in Thailand is not great, and some of the full size photos can take a few minutes each to download - if there's a page with a dozen or so on there's little danger of me ever seeing them. The only problem I'd see is that files other than images can be uploaded too (videos for instance)... though hardly anyone ever does so.

Have you read the forum rules?

Please resize your photos!

Sitting here now in this bar for hours,

whilst strange men rent strange flowers,

I'll be picking up your petals in another few hours...

Will definately give this thread a bump. With so many topics and comments on here about resizing I can't understand why guys still upload huge pics. It's just fucking annoying.

I see you are a moderator so is there any chance you can take this up with those responsible for this forum?.

Understand about the videos but there must be some way they can be identified. Suggest have an option upload photo or up load video ..... seems prety simple solution?.

Cheers and hope to hear some good news later!!.

  • 1 month later...

for Mac you can try

iAlterimageCS3.app

very simple, small and free.

very strange the forum software doesn't resize automatically.

is it an option in the admin ?

in php code it is simple to check and image size, dimensions etc.

and stop upload if required.

also simple to automatically resize any uploaded image.

why it don't do it seems very odd.
