Some thing caught my eye on the TV last night, it was a battery operated gold cat waving. I have seen these many times in Pattaya and think they are....... er "crap" does any one know what they are for. It doesn't sit right with the Thai thing so I guess its... er I have no idea what it is. I just don't think it's a Buddhist thing? I may be wrong, I usually am

Im not sure about the cat,ive seen it and just though its thailand ornament ,incense and drink is what youre on about outside the bars ,offerings to budha,for bar luck,or somethin like that.

The waving cat is ubiquitous in China, even the highest end restaurant will have. After two years in China, I'm seriously thinking about getting one for my place. Remeber tacky is in the eye of the beholder.

If I really am a pessimist, you'd think I'd be plesantly surpised by the outcome of thing more often than I am.

A Chinese thing, the cat is supposed to draw business/money towards the establishment (I was told).
