I would say thats a decent price. Never stayed there but nice sized rooms and a good location. The bar downstairs is pretty good too

i am staying in club blu just around the corner and im paying 12,000 for 1 month,have never seen the rockhouse rooms so i dont know if you are getting a good deal.

It's 720 baht/night for the large rooms, the smaller is even cheaper (I think it's 580) and it is a good place to stay in. You have all the facilities you might need in RH in a great location!

I will use RH next time in town so don't soil my bed in room #1 too much ok?

yeah got to agree with johnny on this one, RH is a good gaff to stay in and the price is reasonable to for the accommodation/location. But dont stay in room #1 i heard johnny & big show shared that room together and got upto all sorts in there 55555

Price ok but not doing you any favours as nightly rate works out cheaper than your 15 night rate. Also depends on time of year you going. Place is good but there are others as good and at least as cheap. Great spot to stay though.

Club Blu rooms are nice, Rock House rooms are much bigger.

You could get top quality hotels for that price, Rockhouse is some rooms above a bar, LK Metro area 10,000 baht per month is acheivable

 

Metro Apartments and Pasadena Lodge are two hotels in Soi LK that get good reveiews

STD room size of 20 Sq Mets!Have you even seen the R/H rooms, I have also the PL & Metro rooms!The one advantage the PL has over the other 2 is it has an elevator fitted, a godsend to us older mongers!

3/ Whilst it's true that 10,000 bht a month rooms (Plus utilities and weekly cleaning)are available around that area, they are not in the same category as the R.H./P,L,/Metro aparts so why even mention it as the O.P. is only staying for 15 days!

Finally as said before I have no axe to grind but people like the O.P.rely on honest information on these forums, and deserve honest responses good or bad!

LK Metro is in my opinion a great central location in Pattaya. Everything you need is within easy walking distance & there are a number of great bars in & around LK Metro. For example you are just off Soi Diana & Soi Baukhao, & near Soi Diana. Beach Road is 10 mins or less away.

 

I've not stayed at Rock House, but drunk there several times. Great staff & great music. No problems at all.

 

I did stay next door at 3-Som Guest House which was fab. I've stayed there twice now, & hope to return later this year (if sterling stops collapsing!)

Pattaya Bay resort is 14,900 a month , it is a hotel with 24 Hour reception , a pool , room service, 24 hour manned reception and security all the facilities of a modern hotel etc etc.

Pasadena is a Hotel and is a quality place with modern furnishings that recives positive reviews almost unamiously from those that have stayed myself included.

It is not rooms above a bar at all, you do not have to trudge through the bar full of drinkers with your bar fine for the night at Pasadena

Mine is an honest review. and i am insulted you have the gall to suggest it is anything else. Just becuase my opinion differs from yours doesnt make you right.I can honestly say i don't know the owners of any of the establishments i mentioned , can you say that.

 

I dont think Guesthouses stack up to the quality hotels that are available for similiar prices.

 

Rockhouse is a bar , according to the reports it is busiest between midnight and 6.00am , great if your drinking partners with the owner not so great if you want to sleep.

I dont want to have to parade my barfine for the night through a bar full of drunks and put up with any unwarranted comments when taking her to my room. If at 3.00am something happens in my room I want to be able to contact reception and have sober responsible people attending to my queries, especially if its an emergency.

Again with a Guesthouse . do they have paid dedicated cleaning staff or is cleaning of the rooms the Bargirls Responsibilities, if i get up at 8.30 am to go for a swim when i return to my room will the room have been made up, in a hotel the room is attended to immediately in a guesthouse do i have to wait for the bargirls to arrive for the day.

 

I just showed you a price of a modern hotel that for a month is around the same price the op is paying for a guesthouse for 15 days.

yes that includes daily cleaning and utilities also get free water everyday,the rooms are excellent and has a pool room and t.v room.

Your parting shot as quoted above, again has no bearing on the OP's question regarding the standard/value of accomodation which the RH offers, it does however clearly show your personal feelings towards the owner, which is totally uncalled for particulary since by YOUR OWN admission you do not even know him!

I've stayed in the Rockhouse once for 4 nights (after that 'my' room was reserved, alas). I had a great time there, no prob with drunks or even bar noise. Mind you, I had the top floor room. I can't vouch for the room just above the bar, there you may hear more bar noises.

 

I've met Mulphy and talked to him a few times over a beer. He's not a friend, but a pleasant guy, gave some good tips (it was my newbie trip) and he runs a good business as far as I can see. The rooms are BIGGG and very good value for the money.

A mate of mine stayed at the RH. He got charged for a broken toilet seat that he didn't break and says the poster of the Band "Kiss" put him off his sex. He wouldn't stay there again.

Stayed 3 times in the past and no probs at all.Great big rooms and value for money alround.Surely when you first check in a room and find something broken you tell the place straight away,then you dont have to pay.I thought most people did that,common sense to be honestAlways clean the room to a good standard and found all the staff friendly.Plus its open 24/7 so you can leave your key there

Stayed at the RH for 3 weeks last May. The staff was very friendly. The rooms are kept exceptionally clean. I'd avoid the top floor because of the heat (I'd recommend that for every hotel). Great location in the middle of a busy area. In room safe, free use of their computer. The only negative was one of the girls behind the bar ratted me out to my tilak that I had a different girl there between her visits. No big deal, I guess they can't help themselves from gossiping.
