the government have surely covered every possible tax angle now while still being able to say they havnt raised (income) taxes. In fact tax on britons has doubled in the last 12 years. tax on oxygen? joggers use way more than their fair share of the stuff!!

O you who turn the wheel and look to windward, Consider Phlebas, who was once handsome and tall as you.

They've got to get the money to pay for all the spongers, ponces and MPs' expenses from somewhere. If we wish to extend a welcome to the oppressed people from the four corners of the world we must be prepared to pay for the privilege. Many of these poor people have never had a holiday in their lives so we should not begrudge them a bit of financial assistance in their hour of need. We should be proud that many members of the Roma community of Eastern Europe and families from war torn African and Middle Eastern states have escaped persecution and sought sanctuary in the British Isles.

Bear in mind these people have enriched our culture and given us the vibrancy and diversity we previously lacked so we should rejoice in the fact that they have chosen the UK as the country in which they wish to spend the rest of their lives. The additional taxes that have been imposed upon us are but a small price to pay for the honour of being citizens of one of the most multicultural nations on God's Earth. These additional charges are merely a taste of the financial burden that awaits us in the future.

We are well aware of the fact that our politicians tell us that immigration has benefited our economy so it is somewhat puzzling to see that the Pound Sterling has nose dived against all the worlds' leading currencies in recent years.
