After the trouble subsides or is sorted one way or the other, whats the chances of cheaper flights to encourage tourism back to LOS? I am looking for my 13th trip flight and am tempted to hang on a bit to see what happens.....What yer reckon??

You raise an excellent point: I'm keeping an eye on fares offered by Thai out of LAX as a barometer for the other airlines.

Fares from the Southeast US have seemed to jump for no apparent reason, even if I look out to Sept-Oct. Blew my budget out of the water, I've had to push back a visit, giving me more time to save up.

Why would airlines reduce fares to Bangkok with the possible exception of a government subsidy in the case of Thai ?

Its not Etihads Evas Qatars etc job to promote tourism in countries other than their own.

If people are put off travelling to Bangkok because of the un-rest there, the airlines may be left with hundreds of un-sold seats. In those circumstances it is standard practice to reduce prices, surely? I got an excellent deal for my Xmas 2008 trip, booking just after the airport blockade finished a few weeks before. Got June in mind for my next trip & I'm optimistic the same may apply again.

No-it is standard practice to reduce flight frequency !
