Could anyone tell me the cheapest way of sending SMS to Thai mobile.

I am living in the UK and when i send a SMS to a Thai mobile it cost me 25 pence per message.

Any other options??

If you have inclusive minutes in your mobile phone deal, you can call your teerak for £0.005 per minute. You can also send a web SMS for the same price (but obviously you need to be at a computer/smartphone to send these).

You can use Skype to send SMS for about USD .063 for 160 characters and works great. If you want to send in Thai you can type English into Google Translate, convert to Thai and then cut and paste the Thai words into the Skype SMS text area. Only issue is the translation may lose some meaning and context through the translation but still a big help sometimes. You always take the Thai version and then retranslate into Englsh to see if it maintains the central message.

If you have a smart phone like iphone or android, you can download the yahoo IM application. From the app you make up a yahoo id for someone, it does not have to be valid, then add their phone number to the profile. When you click their name from the yahoo contacts list you can toggle between SMS and IM.
