Which area?

I have never been to Pattaya, but I'm planning my first trip at the moment. I've been looking at the maps, but it is a bit hard to interpret if you don't know the place. Which area do BMs recommend for a n00b like me? I want somewhere that is reasonably close to the action (preferably walking distance - certainly a short bus ride away). Staying on Walking Street itself is tempting, but that sounds as though it might be a bit full-on and I guess that hotels around there are pretty seedy. I am looking for something that is very clean and reasonably comfortable, but I'm not after 5* luxury (I don't expect to be spending a lot of time n my room). I'm not so much concerned about hotel recommendations (I can read the reviews myself), but I'm not sure which are I should be looking at.

Anywhere between Second Road and Beach Road and Walking Street to Soi 1 and its gonna be very easy to get around. Baht buses run every couple of seconds south along beach road to Walking Street then back up north to Soi 1. That covers most of the Pattaya scene except for Soi Baukao area, however, even if your near Soi Baukao area (LK Metro area) its all fairly relatively close.

Even if you go south past Walking Street such as NovaPlatimum.com its fairly close walk or baht bus ride.

PattayaBayresort.com

Most of the Eastiny hotels www.eastinypattaya.com/

Mercure Pattaya http://www.mercure.c...aya/index.shtml

Just to name a few...My preference is NovaPlatinum.com

cant go wrong with soi LK Metro. you said you aint gonna be in your room much so you dont need 5 star luxury. 10 quid a night or even less will get you a nice basic room with everything you need and soi LK Metro is a perfect area for a newbie imo. you are central to everything.

You just beat me to it, Soi LKMetro is IMHO a top area to stay, but there's no way a reasonably Good sized, well equiped/furnished room can be had now for 480 BHT, OR LESS!

They have even increased their MONTHLY rates to far in excess of that figure. Nowadays far better deals to be had just around the corner/s! :)

hi mate, like i just said there are rooms for 500 baht. i never said they were all reasonably sized. you only need a little room anyway imo. its just a bed at the end of the day. the only think i use my room for is shagging and sleeping and showereing plus i am a submariner, so even the smallest room seems like a palace to me lol...but yes i can assure you there are rooms for 500 baht.. last place i stayed was kilkenny... in november.. 500 baht. spot on.

Soi Chaiyapoon just off soi Bauhkow is the home of Canterbury Tales Cafe & Guesthouse where many newbies and long termers meet every day.

I stayed off of LK Metro and loved it. It takes a couple of minutes to beach road to hop a bus. Took about 10 minutes to Walking Street at a leisurely pace. I liked it because it was still close to any action and quiet if I needed it to be. To be honest, the action is everywhere. I know this is the area I will be staying in again. Seems to have a lot of ex pats in this area.

If you do stay in this area you are less than a minute walk from lolitas and the devils den. If you go to lolita's check out nam, if she likes you she will tell you what time she gets off so there is no bar fine. Just do not give her your number.

Good luck, look forward to the trip report.

I am a fat kid in a sweet shop, I just cannot choose and want it all.

Yep!

I'm staying in a large 1 bedroom apartment 'just around the corner' as we speak. 12000B for 28 days = 430B per day. TV / DVD, aircon, large bed, cleaning, water all included. Just have to pay the leccy bill! Studios can be had for as little as 6000B per month!

Cheap at half the price. :Macarena:

Peace. :GoldenSmile1:

I agree the LK Metro area is a good central spot, has everything you could want, Champagne agogo, Club Blu coyote, plenty of bars and places to eat, Devils Den and of course Lolita's! A short walk to 2nd and your on a baht bus to take you anywhere you want to go.

LK Metro and Soi Boukhao, must be not the best area to stay for newbies. Most of the new ones, how stay here for few weeks, would like to enjoy the ambiemt and the bars at any time, and go back to the room with or with out any lady, few times during the day. That is not coveniet at all if you are sleeping in this area. If you take a girl is not good enoung on bed for you, you may be to lasy to go back to find another ones, if is very late in the night. Not the same if you stay in more central localitation.

Most of the people, who recoment this area, i think is because they have inverst arond here. But not understand why dont use the time they spent in this forum, with confused publicity rather than take care of their death business and teach almost how to behavoir with falang to their staff. Ussually the more lasy and arrogant staff around all Pattaya. Because the area have potencial, but need to do much profesionald, entusiastic and polite work in many stablisment.

But as i said most of the owner are ussing their time in this forum and looking around for not BG to fuck. Because you may be dont know, But Most of the residents in this country try to avoid go with prostitutes, because sex with one is not, ussually is 100 times better. The ladys you pay are bored of sex and falang, and may be have all ready few more attractive, better sex and more funny before you, apart they parnet, their boss, and others they found around. The not pay ladies have to much less encounters with westeners, while many of them are deception, because they are hunted but very good speking ones but very poor indoors, as many time happens. So ladies felt more excitated and atractted and you feel the diference.

And that is all about why people live here for many years, all the rest are excuses, starting for the businesses
