Watching the news now, a state of emergency has been declared in Bangkok

BREAKING NEWS:

State of Emergency decree imposed in Bangkok, Samut Prakarn and Nonthaburi.

 

BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva conceded the enforcement of Internal Security Act (ISA) had failed to deter the protests by the red shirts.

 

Abhisit then deemed it necessary to invoke the emergency decree over Bangkok. Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban has been appointed to supervise the emergency rule.

 

"We want to facilitate other actions to restore peace and order. The actions will be in accordance with the law and international standard," Abhisit said in a TV-pool broadcast.

 

The prime minister reaffirmed that the emergency rule would not mean an imminent crackdown on protesters but to become an effective tool to enforce the laws, including the legal proceedings against red shirts leaders.

 

He promised to restore the nolmacy as soon as possible.

 

The emergency rule covers Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan, Ayutthaya, Pathum Thani, Nakhon Pathom.

I got a little held up by the protests when travelling from the airport to Pattaya yesterday, nothing serious just took about 10 minutes to get through.

 

I'll be transiting to bkk on Fri... Will see how it goes.

As an aside we sent an Imp to meet a patron at the airport, she looked as hot as hell in a see through red dress which we where all so busy looking through to register it as red She was arrested going into the airport, talked her way out of it but was followed till in the arrivals hall

The state of emergency was brought about by the red shirts moving onto the 11 government declared no-go roads within Bangkok. There is no gathering at or in the airport at this time and with the army in control there, I do not see it happening, (Unless they hear that the bareback terror of Thailand is due to land of course )

I was in Patts last Songkran when a state of emergency was declared in Bangkok; sound familiar?

 

Plus the reds were protesting in Patts during the Asean summit at the same time. Not that I would have noticed, unless it was on the news. Media mafia.

I will not fly to Thailand for now but will see how things pan out.

Some member above said if the King dies all hell will brake lose & big problems will blow up, I have to agree 100% with this opinion & if this happens I advice guys to fly home or get out of the Kingdom of Thailand.
