Pls Help with Hotel Recommendations for July

Tariq

Recommended Posts

Hi I am planning to visit Pattaya during coming July. Last time I stayed at the Holiday Inn during their opening offer period, worth the 2000 THB I paid for it. Current prices are not feasible.

So, I am looking for a hotel that is 2000 THB or less, the following is required:

  1. Amenities: Clean, In room safe, secure, quiet (early sleeper and early riser), breakfast of some sort is a plus, Free WIFI internet access in room or lobby, shower that is enough for two people, daily cleaning, room service ...etc.
  2. Location: Should be within walking distance to all amenities. Should be within a short walking distance to the baht buses, it is a plus if there are some services such as laundry, supermarket, massage ... etc. close by.
  3. Girl Friendly Policy: Likely that I will have company each night. I should be free to bring the girl friend for the night with no issues.
  4. Price: 2000 THB or less

I have always stayed in the Beach road area and that is the area I am mostly familiar with. I do not mind going somewhere else, but will need something that will give me access to the hot spots that I will visit on a daily bases: Walking Street, Soi 6, Soi Honey ...etc.

Pool and sun bathing is not important. I am dark enough without the sun tan :)

Agoda gives me less than 2000 THB in July for Tims's, some of the LK's ...etc. See like good hotels but I have never been to that area and do not know if they are close to the baht busses, restaurants, ... etc.

Any help will be appreciated.

The LK Renassiance on Soi Dianna is ideally located with close access to 2nd Road and Soi Buckhaow,

Thanks for the recommendation. Looks like it will be fine. I have never been to that side of Pattaya, but it seems a short walk to the baht bus route on soi 2.

I have not been to Soi buckhaow before as well, but I hear a lot about it. There are some hotels there as well. Is that area generally quite?

Thanks

if you are looking somwere to stay which is close to everything and quite then i would say stay in the soi LK Metro area, music usually stops at 2am and then the place goes dead. also some excellent hotels and guesthouses around this area at great prices.good luck.

I agree witht he soi bou kou area being in the thick of it.

it runs parralel to 2nd road and walking distance to beach road

i find it is usually better to cross these intersections as the whole journey

all the way round to ws can take a good while depending on traffic ( if its a holiday songkran, xmas, new year dont expect quick journeys at all)

That and some song tao drivers yap about extra 10 baht but w/e.

from rough shit in the past i've learned to steer clear from it if you can.

I've not stayed in the lk metros but have had friends who have and heard nothing wrong with the accom as yet maybe theres stronger reviews on the board.

But should you stay in that area there is .... Devils den, Club Blu, Papagoyo, Oasis Gogo, umpteen massage places who do extras, cheaper internet cafes compared to main roads.

i do not recommend the restuaraunt that serves a buffet opposite papagoyo ( soi diana off 2nd road) as i got food poisoning from there one time just a heads up.

If i don't plan to stay in this area theres a reletively decent accom opposite the pattaya memorial hospital called @ home 1k baht a night but reletively decent acommadation.

However if you dont mind being a moto taxi away from most things i found this place to be a gem right next to the amari called ktk royal residence

http://ktkpattaya.com/home.html

i have no affiliation with any of the places i recommend

my recommmendations

To be in the thick of it - soi bou kou LK Metro area ( pronounced soi Boo cow) dont know prices i would think seasonal

to be just out of range of loud noise but in walking distance to beach road - @ home ( if you are walking down 2nd road to pattaya memorial you will turn right into the soi with it and just before you get there on the left side is @ hhome 1k baht a night)

If you have family with you or want a bit of luxury and dont want to stay at amari ktk is off pattaya klang

Thanks for the help guys. I have a bad knee and will have difficulty walking long distances regularly. Therefore, I need to be close to transport so I can move around.

I am getting good rates for tim Boutique hotel, any information on this hotel will be appreciated.

What is the location like?

How easy to get to baht bus?

Girl Friendly?

Wireless for free?

..etc.

Hey bud,

I can't recommend August Suites highly enough.

It ticks all your boxes for what you are looking for. Don't worry about their website saying there is a 500 baht guest fee. You only get charged that if there is more than one guest at a time in the room, so bringing one girl back is free.

Here is the thread that discusses the place.

Hi Tariq

On my first 3 visits to Pattaya I stayed at the Mecure which is in soi 15 not far from Soi Buckow area, about a

5 min walk. This is a great hotel with all the things that you are seeking including probably one of the best pools in the area. They are girl friendly and have a great buffet breakfeast and a 24hr shuttle service to 2nd rd.they are

located next to PBR with easy access to 2nd rd from the avenue shopping centre. Agoda currently have a special for your time period at around 1200 baht,it's usually 2400.I can't afford to stay there anymore and choose to stay in one of the budget type guest houses in Soi Buckow. What your hearing about Soi Buckow is quite correct I prefer it to all the other areas as it is conncentrated and has everything that you want at a reasonble price.

Cheers goodluck

I have been looking at this place for myself and have read some negative reviews due to construction noise recently, so check it out first before booking in.

www.NovaPlatinum.com

Stayed there several times and very quiet, especially if you get the Pool side rooms. (Its a toss between the Mercure or NovaPlatinum, depending on the price is usually where I stay.)
