Newcastle already promoted to the Premiership.

 

Whatever you think about the nonsense of the last few seasons IMO the Premiership is better off WITH them. Great history, great stadium and (probably) the best fans in England (maybe 2nd to Liverpool) - certainly the best traveling fans.

 

Welcome return as far as i am concerned and it will add one more top notch derby game too now that the Mackems seem pretty established in the top flight again. Perhaps mopst important it adds more "top games". No disrespect to certain teams but every weekend if filled with games I am just not excited about and Newcastle certain helps change that balance.

 

What odd on Kevin coming back - then throwing another hissy half way through?

Congrats to Newcastle and yes I agree the top flight is not the same without them and they derby against Sunderland is always a good game to watch. I really do hope West Ham stays up too the PL would feel weired without them.

I agree. I mean no disrespect to Burnley , Hull and Pompey but they are the teams that should go down. Pompey only have themselves to blame (and maybe 'Arry) but the other two did fantastically well to get promoted but look more and more like "good quality" Championship sides every time I see them.

 

Perhaps its unfair to "wish" any side down thats my thoughts anyway.

 

As to the Mackem's comment...............typical! . Time will tel and it depends on who the manager is when they come up and if they have cash. Newcastle can attract the right players of the money is there and I really cant see Hughton lasting despite the great job he has done bouncing straight back.

Somehow I don't think it will be that easy, They will be a more resolute determine team in the PL.

My old mate has been a Newcastle supporter all his 60 years.

 

At the beginning of every season he is always bright-eyed and bushy tailed and enthusiastically optimistic, but by the time every Xmas rolls round he has a haunted and hurting look. By early April, he is always hollow-eyed and suicidal.

 

It breaks my heart to watch the same pantomime play out for him year after year after year, so much so that I keep urging him to join me in supporting the All Blacks instead, and that way the despairing trauma would only come once every 4 years rather than annually.

well said ljc.no club has a devine right to be in premiership.if you run your club badly or have a shit team you will go down.does not matter how many fans you have.

I never said for one minute they didnt deserve to be promoted!!! I simply said that they are teams that (probably) deserve to go down this time around.

If stating my OPINION is slagging then fair do's. I actually said they did fantastic to get promoted but in my opinion are the right teams to go down.

Without being a fan of Newcastle, I can say this plain and simple:

 

They are a great club with illustrious history, one of England's finest. They deserve deserve no less than flying high in the Premiership, period.
