Copying Other Peoples Photos

Featured Replies

The other day I spotted some of my photos being used on another web site. I emailed them to say they were a bit naughty not to ask first. They emailed me back saying they had created a link to my site so no problem.

However! all my images are stored on Picasa Web Albums. Can I put my web address on each photo (bloody thousands) in one fell swoop, or do I have to do it to each photo in turn.

Heeeeeeeelp

ps If I have to do it manually... how do I do it hehehe

Thanks for the replies in advance

I am sure there is some softwear that lets you put your tag along the bottom seen it on other sites....me i am not really arsed if someone copies and posts my pics....I have copied a few of the cute girls pics on here not for posting but for my own research ....lol

12 hours and its wheels up !!! yessss :)

Sorry to say watermarking your images won't stop people from stealing them.

Just make sure your watermark covers the entire image or them might just crop the watermark off the image. So nothing round the edges make sure it is centred.

A quick google using the search phrase "batch image process open source", came up with these apps. I haven't tried them, but they look like they might do what you want.

I can understand the frustration but on the flip-side it can also be flattering that somebody considered your material worthy of copying.

I had a similar experience myself a few years back with an eBay listing, but in this instance it was just pure laziness. The plagiarist had copied my text word-for-word and even copied the multiple picture links that were being hosted through my own ISP (ie. also stealing my bandwidth).

If they're not hosting their own graphics you have the opportunity for your own sweet form of revenge. I simply substituted my images and made it very clear (in the context of the item listing) what the S-O-B was up to.

I dont mind anyone using an image I have photographed. As long as they Ask first, which usually means me looking on there site Ie Giving them a bit of traffic and, or they attach a link back to my blog.

I will keep trying and let you know how it goes. Thanks for your replies

dont know about stopping putting links to your pics on here thuo, still it dose bring extra traffic here.
