Review - Bella Express

Location

Off central road 2 mins from second road, previously known as Little Duck as could be seen on some of the crockery.

Check in

Quick and efficient with the Agoda confirmation. 500 baht deposit for electronic keycard, returned on checkout.

Room

Pool view as requested, clean and tidy. Not a great deal of storage space for t-shirts underwear etc enough hangers for a few shirts.

Air conditioning quiet and efficient but took a few nights to get the settings right so temperature perfect to sleep. Had a tendency to dehydrate like most AC. Bright clear lighting which was good for getting dressed but a bit of pain to get subdued lighting for the girls.

Bathroom a little small with a tendency to flood if the shower curtain not perfectly in place. Water a little discoloured when took a bath.

The bed was two beds next to each other with separate duvets. They could be connected together with a latch arrangement at head and base but it had a tendency to separate. The bed situation was not really an issue for me as I don’t like physical contact when I am sleeping and each bed was big enough to fuck on and play around.

Amenities

Breakfast was buffet affair. Pretty good selection of both hot and cold dishes and didn't seem to run short the times I ate it. No bacon as ever so had to get my fix elsewhere.

Pool very clean and not over chlorinated not very deep, at 6'2" I could easily stand at and point. There was never a shortage of towels or sun loungers on my stay.

There was a small fitness room/gym. I never used it but looked clean with decent equipment.

Overall

Nice clean hotel a little off the beaten track so quiet at night. Wi-Fi good coverage even at the pool. Newly renovated with decor maybe a little clinical, one girl said it looked a bit like a shopping centre.

Clientele seems to be mostly Eastern Europeans couples and Indian coach trips. Car park always had at least one 50+ seat coach and up to three.

Would recommend for someone looking for a quiet place if you can cope with the split bed issue.

I paid in advance via Agoda, so it worked out about 1300 Baht night.

It's off Central Road, not one of the numbered Sois

Here are a couple of pictures of the pool taken from the room, and one of the split bed arrangement.

Sadly, lot of budget hotels in Thailand make double beds by pushing two singles together (you are lucky that there was even a latch). I really hate this. I'm quite tall, so even on my own I tend to sleep diagonally across a double bed, and with company this sort of arrangement is horribly uncomfortable. If I know about it in advance then this, alone, is enough to make me avoid a particular hotel.
