Dr Aree at the PIH

Dear All

 

I was just wondering if anyone has any recent dental experiences with Dr Aree at the Pattaya Int Hospital? I am looking to get a crown fitted and have been in touch with her over the last few days.

 

Any advice or help is appreciated.

There is an old thread about dentists which discusses Dr Aree here. Its out of date but it may give you some useful info.

 

She used to have a very good reputation and I have seen nothing since to change that.

We have used her on several occasions, she has yet to fail us. The Lass was terrified of the dentist but Aree is so gentle she has no problems with going now. Dr Aree also has no problem in saying if the job is to big/complex for her, she passed a friend on to the consultant as she felt he would be able to do a better job. The guy needed all the stumps of his teeth removed and bolts ons to replace them

I am considering have my teeth whitened in Pattaya on my next visit. None of that posh laser stuff. Just a good chemical job!

My two kids have their check ups next week and daughter MAY require a brace. I will let you know how it goes from a professional perspective although obviously its a bit different to a crown.

I have used Promjai (Phuket and BKK) in the past but they quoted me 23,000THB for a crown and post. Whilst their work is very good, the price seems a bit steep. Dr Aree quoted 13,000 for the same.

Also 5 nights in Patts is cheaper than BKK or Phuket.

I've heard about Dr Aree before and she seems to have a number of satisfied patients on the Thai forums. Does anyone have contact details for her - I can't find anything on the PIH site. Having just been quoted £1200 for 2 crowns back in the UK, I'm looking for a better option (and an excuse for a quick return).

If you can't get her I use Dr Buddhachart in the same surgery. He did a really good crown for me, about 14,000 with the high gold level. Also great for cleaning at about 1,100. Much better than any clean I ever had in the UK. His number 038 428374

Thanks for the information. Didn't like the thought of walking into just any dentist office without testimonials.
