Anyone stayed at the Adelphi Grande Bangkok?

We're looking at this hotel and was wondering if anyone here have stayed there. If so, how was it? What is close by it as far as attractions, bars, etc? Thanks!!!

Its a nice place. 1 bts stop from Cowboy. WackyJacky did a picture report shortly after the opening.

I stayed here for 6 weeks over Xmas and its a cracking new hotel with spacious rooms, washing machine with a drier, comfy beds, and all the amenities of a good 4 star hotel ie pool and gym with a restaurant selling good food and a very good breakfast .... its a very good location where you wont get hassled when walking out the door. Couldnt recommend it enough.

 

Only down side is it has those huge Thai pillows that lift your head 50cm from the matress.

I also spent about 6 weeks at this hotel. The rooms you get can really vary. Some rooms the dryer works great, some rooms it's completely ineffective. The floor with the pool, i think it's 4th or 5th will get you a lot a mosquitoes. I stayed in about 4 different rooms here, it's a long story. The best room I had was the 1 bedroom, large size overlooking the pool on a high floor. The worst room was the gigantic studio which they charge for the largest size room on the floor with the pool. It seemed nice at first but it had an odd shower layout and the mosquitoes were just too much to deal with.

 

Staff were friendly. On a day that it rained I had to walk in water knee high and that wasn't any fun. It's a bit deep down the Soi but it's good for exercise.
