If you get out of the "tourist" mentality you could easily stretch £5k over 5 months.

 

Your biggest expenses will be - rent, women, booze, food.

 

Rent - get a condo, anywhere between 5-12k Bht (not too far out otherwise transport costs will be an issue)

Women - still have fun, don't BF from agogos, beer bars only, or get a few tel numbers of girls you see about and get them round after hours.

Booze - plenty of cheap places to drink, New Plaza, cheap bars on Soi 7/8, draught beer in agogos is also relatively cheap.

Food - eat in a couple of nights a week, have Thai food occassionally, cheap farang places on Soi Buakho, avoid high priced tourist places like Pig & Whistle, Tequilla Reef, etc.

 

Your choice, have a bit of dicipline or blow it all in 6 weeks.
