Visa for Vietnam works in LoS?

I have a 3 month multi-entry visa in Vietnam, do I need to get a visa for Thailand as well? My friends here in Vietnam say that I don't need to, is this true? If I do need one do I just go to the Thailand embassy or what?

As an American you don't need a visa for Thailand, you qualify for a visa exemption when you arrive which is 30 days if you arrive by air and 15 days if you come via land. If you want to stay longer, go to the Thai embassy and get a tourist visa - there is no fee on this for the next couple of weeks and will give you 60 days.
