£20 or £50 Notes?

Hi everyone just got back from pattaya, am missing it already hope to go back in march 2011. I had no problems with £10s or £20 i also took a prepaid credit card again no problems at ATM's. I was going to take TC but the queue's in my bank was to long in the uk.

But i did have a problem with my visa debit card and i told my bank what dates i was in LOS but they still stopped it, don't change any money in UK (shit rate). when you get off the plane there is a money changer booth on the way to customs just change enough for taxis or buses.

 

In a nut shell cash & prepaid credit cards.

I took a prepaid Travelex Visa card and found out I was getting 3 baht less per pound sterling than I was getting for cash! Stick to cash or TCs.

It's a complete waste of time phoning your bank before you leave home asking them not to block your card. It's all down to the banks fraud computer system which decides to block your card. Before you go just make sure you get from their website the phone number you need to ring when it gets blocked. Only takes about five minutes to get it unblocked.
