Can anyone tell me to phone thai numbers from the uk ? do you have to knock the 0 off and add +66 ? also is it the same for texting ?.I was in los in march was'nt able to phone thai mumbers then after being told by my network i could any advice please.

Correct. However, a few months ago the number 8 was added to all Thai mobile numbers.... don't know if you knew this. Therefore, if you wanted to phone someone who'se number was, for example, 01 234, 5678 it would now be 081 234 5678. From the UK you would phone +66 81 234 5678

I have a BT landline and none of the 2 p and 1 p numbers work so far!! i'll try that number!

I think the best cheap call provider in the UK is Telesavers its 1p to both a mobile and land line dial 0844 861 25 25 and follow the instruction, it takes a few seconds before it srarts to ring so don't hang up if its all quiet
