Paddy land in the North East might cost that or even les in many cases but the price quoted is about right for this area.

 

Coastal Land in Phuket is now fetching 16m per Rai - its just varies from location to location.

 

5 Rai of beachfront, close to Bang Saray, recently sold for 55m.

 

Inland land where I live (20km from Ban Chang) is currently approx 700,000 per Rai - thats over 10x what you quote and that is about right.

Mnay companies are farang controlled and companies can buy land. Look at the big guys in Thailand such as Raimond Land - all non Thai controlled developers.

 

It would be like saying no-one could advertise a house for sale here either.
