If you are a frequent visitor to Patt and even using a rubber you are getting warts and herpes sooner or later , get used to it its the price you have to pay for fucking good looking woman half your age, it sucks yes! but would you give it up ?? Just be smart and bag it, so you don't get something thats going to kill you.

I've had cold sores(type I) my entire life?(at least since 10 years old).

outbreaks are generally caused by lowering of immune system - stress - partying etc...

My STB-ex has type 2 (found out after) but i didn't contract it - in spite of numerous enthusiastic forays into the area.

Valtrax is very effective at clearing type I quickly. i combine with abreva cream. Also very expensive. Many adds on tv recently advising people with type II to take daily...But then there are many adds from those lovely pharmaceuticals...

Is imperative to treat aggressively when first indications are felt - slight tingling itchiness below the skin. Sometimes can be very effective at preventing real outbreak - blistering breaking of skin, etc.

Does a condom have any efficacy in prevention?

Would imagine a genital outbreak would manifest on the outer vaginal lips/anus. Condom doesn't cover base of penis, and it is usually very wet, and gooey there after the act...

Not sure these symptoms are identical to type II...

cheers

I always wear a condom tho!

I've had warts before - you can catch it even if the other person doesnt have visible warts - so basically you are screwed when it comes to pattaya, you WILL eventually get it. Condoms will not save you.

The good news is that they can be frozen off during a trip to the docs, although they will occassionally spring up again. When they appear, you just have to go back to the doc, although I have only ever had them twice in 2 years, and they were tiny little things, barely visible. Its not painful to remove, although mine were very small, it may be more painful if they are larger, or you have more than one.

Again, its a virus that loads of people have without visible symptoms - you could have it. You probably do have it, in fact most mongers on this board probably have it, even if they have never seen warts.

But as was said previously, its the price you pay to be a monger. It seems as if all pleasures in life have a price...

Well if condoms do not prevent these awful things I think hand jobs and blow jobs with condoms on of course are the only safe bet. To me getting herpes and warts is not worth it.

STD's f**kin suck, If the governments would but the money that goes into military into research for curing, we could all just shag with no worrys

poor juleous cesar got a woefull case of those scratchs, had the umbrella meself

Very true. I heard that research for herpes is woefully underfunded.

I read recently that scientists found out one of the genome pathways that herpes uses to be able to hide out in the body. It appears that the virus hiding is why it's so hard to kill it, but if they can find a way for all the virus to come out of hiding they may be able to kill them and cure the person.

yes without condom it just feels much better!

heard about HPV vaccine.... you guys got the vaccine?

The vaccine has been FDA approved for use in males age 9 to 26 for prevention of genital warts, so what if you are over 26? can't get it?

i think if you have herpes you might want to consider staying home for your sake and everyone elses sake.. obviously you know you are putting others at risk and your self at greater risk to further infections....

you got burned once and you should take it as a lesson learned... and im actually a bit shocked by how well this subject is accepted and recommendations are being offered to help... everyone always talk about treat the girls with respect and try to do right by them, but sending an infected person with even more information to hide his problem doesnt follow the be kind guide line... this is only my opinion and im attemptng to be constructive as possible...

I noticet that people from USA are obessed with this HERPES issue :) - I saw even TV show where they were talking about how herpes ruined their social and sexual life. It is no problem to find sites full of info about who from VIPs is infected with herpes - CRAZY

In Europe it is absolutely normal to have herpes - it is estimated that 80 percent people older 40 have HSV 1 and 60 percent have HSV 2. It is not even considered to be real STD - like HIV, syphilis etc.

Some say -stay at home - OK, and what about grandular fever (kissing disease) - it is virus too - EBV - so, you may never ever kiss youn girl again, because You may give it to her :)

I found this - with help of another board member:

U.S. studies show that the risk of acquiring genital herpes increases with the number of sexual partners. For heterosexual women living with one partner, the risk of contracting HSV-2 is 10%. This risk increases to 40%, 62% and more than 80% as the number of life time partners increases to 2-10, 11-50, or more than 50, respectively. For heterosexual men, there is zero probability for acquiring HSV-2 with just one life time sexual partner, and a 20%, 35%, and 70% risk for those in each of the other 3 risk groups. For homosexual men, seroprevalence increases from more than 60% to 90% for those with 11-50 partners and those with more than 50 partners.

How many trips to Pattaya before count of sexual partners reaches critical level - more than 50 TG in your "loom"

How many days in work before TG become positive ?

I think the figures in the UK are that around 80% of the population have been infected with the virus which is commonly associated with oral 'cold sores'. Presumably, that means HSV1. Don't know if there are any figures for HSV2 which, presumably is commonly associated with 'genital herpes'. And my understanding is that both viruses can infect either area and can also get into and infect the body anywhere if there is a break in the skin, resulting in possible outbreaks there. It can get into mucus membrane sites more easily, hence oral 'cold sores' and genital herpes are the usual manifestations. (Finger whitlows also occur which may be one reason dentists use gloves.)

What would worry me rather, and this is the main point of my reply, is that a lady giving a BBBJ might have been infected with one of the viruses on the lips or mouth and it might be transferred from her even if no sores were present. If sores were present, no way, Jose (or even, not tonight, Josephine) but how much can one really look to check out the lady without causing gross offence? Cross infection might occur even if the lady had no outbreak.

Other point I wish to make is this. As far as I am aware, I have HSV1 as get cold sores and have had them for as long as I can remember. What astonishes me is that the virus has not been transferred to the other area (and I am touching wood as I write, no pun intended) as could have predictably have happened through not washing hands before using the toilet as a kid.

genital herpes is a different strain from the oral form and you shouldn't be concerned for it to be transferred to your dick

Yes there is a small but real danger for that happenning. You cannot effectively check the girl yourself. Relatively higher risk to get it is in Soi 6, where bbbj is standard practice and girls go with a high number of customers per month. I say this although I have been mongering in Soi 6 a lot myself and get frequently bbbjs.Never had a problem so far though...

It's seems odd that HSV1 and HSV2 have been around for a while, are a nuisance, but there is no vaccine. Presumably, if their structure is known, they are not mutating so why no vaccine? On the other hand there is a vaccine for 4 strains of HPV.

Maybe because it’s not life threatening (for the most part). Truth be told it’s more of an inconvenience than anything and I’d bet $$$ that some bean counter ran the numbers to show that there is more money in antiviral drugs than a vaccine.

They're always interesting these medical topics and inevitably controversial. I caught herpes, the genital variety, 20 years ago. It was diagnosed at an STI clinic and I was given the then up to date low down on this virus, which i agree could by now be out of date. Going by what Cerberus has written and some others though, it seems like that information is still current. But don't  take the word of a GP for it - go see a specialist in the field of sexually transmitted diseases.

1. It's very contagious (I don't remember being told you can pass it on even when you don't have an outbreak)

2. It's fairly harmless, although a very small % of people have more serious symptoms (same with other virus' eg flu and Covid) - I don't know what those symptoms are.

The reason why it's both fairly harmless AND widespread is evolutionary. If a virus kills too many of its hosts, it doesn't survive long enough, as a species, to multiply and become common. The more harmless they are, the more 'successful' they are. This doesn't apply, of course, to viruses which have adapted to be capable of being passed from one species to another, (and even from one to another and then another) even when the first or second host has died from having it (this may be the case with Covid 19 - we don't really know yet.
