Is Thailand's Suvarnibhumi airport ready for high tourism?

I basically spent the entire weekend at at the airport, or what felt like the entire weekend. Friday night, I showed up at 2200 for a 2355 departure (KLM). The line was very very long for check in, while looking around for a shorter line, I noticed there were only 3 check counters open for my flight. Typical really...

I went down stairs, had some food and a drink, then came back up to only 2 counters open for my flight and 2 counters open for a different flight. I guess they started running out of time and had to open check in for a different flight, so the they closed one of my flights check in line and opened an extra one for the other flight. WHy wouldn't have they just opened 5 or 6 from the get go (all three open stations had extra people there) and avoid this???

Then onto to Immigration..... Same Same, 4 or 5 open lines for foreign passports and 4 open lines for Thai passports.... While I can appreciate having the dedicated lines for the Thais, this made no sense to me. I am pretty sure more people going through immigration in BKK are foreigners not Thais.... Seen at least 4 or 5 people begging and pleading with airport staff and airline staff that if they don't get through soon, they will miss their flight. The staff just shrugged it off and told them to go speak to immigration... LOL>... How can they do that with a line of 40 people in front of them?

I made it all the way through, and lost a documented that I needed so I missed my flight on purpose. Next day it was same thing all over again. Both immigrations stations rammed out for no reason.... Only using half of the available resources. Then, my flight got canceled for technical reasons. So I did it all over again with the same exact thing happening on Sunday night as well....
