Koh Pha Ngan

Ko Pha Ngan (or Koh Phangan, Thai: เกาะพะงัน) is an island in the Gulf of Thailand in South East Thailand. It is famous for its full moon party at Haad Rin Beach and as a backpackers destination. Ko Pha Ngan has two sister islands: Ko Samui in the South and Ko Tao in the North.

Here are a couple of pics of Haad Rin Nai as the boat is leaving for Ko Sumai. The bungalows are from 3 or four different hotels and price from about 880b to 2500b per night. I found it best to just get off the boat and walk around to find one you like. On this side of the Island you will not be disturbed by the Full Moon party but you are 5 min walk from the heart of it.

One of the best one is Mae Haad with the small island koh ma about 100m from the beach. It is the besst place for snorkeling and also good for swimming.

But sometimes the tide is very down then it is impossible to swim.

Near the mae haad beach (150m in the west) is a small quiet closed beach.
