landing 11pm -What would you do?

Hi all, got a bit of a dilemma and was seeking advice from the group.

I'm flying in on the 27th of July and landing at about 11pm - and allowing a half hour to clear customs and get my bags - is it worth getting a cab down to Patts, getting there around 1am and hoping that someone is there to let me into the room. or getting a taxi into bangkok and being in a room around 12 and then going to pattaya the next day. Or would you hand around the airport and catch the bus down first thing in the morning? Is there reasonable accommodation at the airport?

any other options or experiences would be most welcome

Cheers

The bus choice is a no no.

If you decide on Bangkok, remember that you are going 30-40 Minutes out of your way. If you don’t have a hotel booked for your trip. I would book a hotel in advance for your first 2 nights, somewhere like Areca Lodge that have 24 hour reception. The night is only warming up at 1am in Pattaya. Loads of time left in Walking Street. JP bar in Walking Street only gets going after 4AM.

Booking a taxi in advance is a good idea. There are a couple advertised on this site who are reliable enough.

There's plenty of action in both places, Bangkok is about one hour's less traveling time, if you want a girl, both places will still be kicking but Pattaya parties until much later (4am+) whilst Bangkok is winding down by 1am, except a few disco's.

Up to you!

My last trip I came in about the same time from Sydney, went straight to Dynasty Grand, checked in, and by Midnight went out to Nana Plaza, before picking up a freeelancer at Nana car park and then heading down to pattaya mid morning.

Thats about what time I got in last time, you'll be in patts at 1.00am, still plenty of time to go out and get a BF.

Thanks for the advice Mightyone and Dirty Sanchez, I'll come down that night - have to drink fast to catchup with everyone else lol - can't wait ;-) I'll organise the hotel and a pre-booked taxi (that will save some valuble drinking/womanizing time)

thanks Nus01 - I think I got in there around that time a couple of years ago - stayed in Bangkok that night and only had time for 1 beer at Nana - did pick up two sisters (and they were real sisters - not just close friends) when everything shut down - gotta love a country where you can bonk siblings 2 hours after landing

If you arrive late, and decide to go the patts route, which I recommend. Hit Insomnia, so much freelance action its insane.

The most unfair thing about life is the way it ends. I mean, life is tough. It takes up a lot of your time. What do you get at the end of it?

A death. What's that, a bonus ? I think the life cycle is all backwards.

You should die first, get it out of the way. Then you live in an old age home. You get kicked out when you're too young, you get a gold watch, you go to work.

You work forty years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement.

You do drugs, alcohol, you party, you get ready for high school. You go to grade school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities.

You become a little baby, you go back into the womb, you spend your last nine months floating... you finish off as an orgasm.

It's perfect !

Agreed if you choose to hit Pattaya straight away try Insomnia or Marine for plenty freelancers. Personally i would just stay at night at Nana and pick up a freelancer from the carpark and then hit Pattaya the following day...

Awesome, thanks very much manggaawn and kadafi. I think I'll head down to patts that night. just doing a hotel seach and emailing now. not that big a fan of bangkok - apart from Pantip Plaza for software and dvds I could be happy giving the place a miss on holdays. not that its that bad, but i'd rather be in pattaya ;-)

ps manggaawn - I'm in love with your avatar - she is stunning!!

cheers

I'm also arriving at around that time.

What are the transport options at that time of night?

My preference would be to find a taxi in the departure area, but I'm not sure if there'd be many around so late.

Would it be worth pre-booking a car?

I think that your best bet is to head straight to fun town. The travel time between Suvarnabhumi and Patts is only about 90 minutes without traffic. Since you'll be coming at night, the traffic should be nil. You might want to call the hotel once your in the cab to let them know you're on your way. That might make check in easier, and less of a surprise to the staff.

Some clubs don't open until 2, and as long as there are customers they will stay open, especially since its low season. I was at Marine and Lucifer's last week. Both were still kicking after 4am. I was actually hoping for the BIB to close the place down, as my buds were not wanting to leave (note: I had already found my TG dejoure). Yes, I am showing my age.

How much money are you willing to part with? For around 2000 baht, a car service will find you, as the evening flights attract a menagerie of ladies and gents peddling their services. Remember, everything is negotiable. You can get 1/4 off the stated rate if you first offer 1/2 of the going rate (1000baht) then compromise on 1500.

You might also want to make friends with someone on your flight heading off to Patts. Car services usually charge by the trip and not by the number of people. You can easily split the fare if you don't mind sharing a ride.

A taxi is another option, but IMO the car services are your best bet. Have fun.

Book a taxi. Check the pinned transportation info at the top of the page. I recommend Mr. Toom, but there are other options.

Hi Tokyo Joe, what date/time do you land? Mine Lands 10:55pm 27 July. If its on the same day maybe we can share a taxi. I plan to contact Mr Toom to organise a car.

Thanks to all for the advice - cheers Zoomwave

    • For those that don't know, I did Friday meetings before many years ago,  I feel like we are missing a regular meeting for members,  I am aware guys meet at PA affiliated bars. But I want to start meeting people again, I'm inviting the guys following my YouTube also.

The meetings is a chance to get to meet each other,  I plan to be at every meeting, I also have Dean from Dive bar that has offered to help out with a crawl after.
The meetings will be  Monday  6 pm - 8 pm each week.  (The improvised bar crawl will commence at 8 p.m.  Dean will make his own plans for that.)

Due to low numbers of people in town, I will start the meetings in our bars to help our girls and managers, please check back often incase things are changed.  I will be sharing the love around town later, but Soi 6 is first on my list (including bars that are friendly competition)
If bar owners want us to have a meeting at their bar,  they need to have a minimum of 10 girls.  I'm not dragging people to empty bars for favours.
Please help us invite other members, it takes a while to get momentum.
Monday 6 pm - 8pm  (then bar crawl after)
      21st March - Playpen Soi 6
28th March - Night wish bar Soi 6

18th April - where angels play Soi 6
