pattaya bay resort hotel

NO! Don't go, this is terrible. I mean seriously, every time I go I have a fantastic time and smile at the nice staff and get a clean room. If you go, and you tell others how great it is they are going to continue to be packed solid and eventually raise their prices and that would be bad.

FYI, I'm moving this into the hotels section.

I stayed there for about a week, but moved because I wanted a more convenient location. There's really nothing nearby. No bars, mini-mart, or restaurant. It's about 200 yards behind The Avenue Mall. The good thing is you can walk through the mall from 2nd Road.

Note that it's more of a serviced apartment rather than a conventional hotel. It has large fridge, microwave, and kitchen sink. The downside is the rooms, while large, resemble more of a guest house rather than a nice hotel. For the same price, I moved to Tim Boutique for a more luxurious and convenient experience. That's my opinion though. See other reviews in the hotels section for a greater perspective.

I love the place and its location, and always stay there when I'm in Pattaya. The low season rate (999 baht) is a great deal. It's very popular so you'd be wise to book well in advance.

It seems that a post similar to this is made on a fairly regular basis. I've never seen it in relation to any other hotel. It's a great way for the hotel to get free publicity. There is no need for new posts as there are hundreds of comments on this place which can easily be accessed using the search function.

As the hotel is one of the main advertisers on this Forum, maybe they deserve the extra publicity! I'm happy to do my bit, even if it risks making the place even more popular.

I stayed there once but would not return. So our views of the place, and hence whether is deserves publicity, are different.

i'vw stayed there twice i found the location to be decent but not great. the staff was cool bith times and the owner seemed like a nice enough guy. the issue i had is that the rooms have paper thin walls and you can hear all the hallway noise when then maids make there rounds. I'm a lite sleeper so this was a problem for me. also if you do stay here make sure you get a room no higher the the 5th floor. because the pool is on the roof and you will here people dragging chairs all day long. i even used earplugs they helped a little

I stayed here last October really enjoyed the hotel.

Whilst i stayed here a guy mentioned that the owner of PBR had some cheaper apartments not far away from PBR and that if I stayed at the apartments I could still use the hotel facilities, pool and gym ect. Does anybody have any info on them please ?

Precisely. Also, some people might not think it feels the safest place to walk back to at night.

Yeah, the Avenue Mall is a hotbed of crime after dark and watch out for the tuk-tuk muggers that hang out on the corner of 2nd Rd and Soi 15. :001_Thank_You5:

I haven't seen the place yet, but the out of the way location seems like it would be a plus to a light sleeper. That's my concern with booking a place that would be more in the thick of things ... too much ambient noise to ever get any sleep.

"Out of the way location"??? How is 3 minutes walk from 2nd Rd/soi 13 out of the way??

That said, it is in a quiet location, apart from the lift installation work that is currently going on between 10.00-19.00 and can be pain if you have a room at that end of the hotel. It's due to be completed soon and the extra lift will certainly improve things.

This hotel definitely knows the meaning of customer service. Every time there was a small issue they compensated either with a discount on the stay or an all you can eat buffet breakfast instead of the regular free breakfast. That is why I am staying there on my next trip, at least for the first few days.

If you are a light sleeper, it is one of the worst places you could choose - see earlier posts. The walls are wafer thin, the corridors reverberate, and avoid the floor below the pool because that compounds the problem.

I've stayed there. Decent enough. Pretty good restaurant, friendly staff, ok wi-fi in room, no complaints about room size or cleanliness.

However, I would endorse those who claim it is a remote location. That is reason I haven't been back and would not consider unless Areca and Renaissance both full up.

Remote from what? It's nearer Walking St than Areca and a 2 minute stroll to The Avenue where you can find Villa Supermarket, Starbucks, Mcdonalds, Au Bon pain, Shenanigans and many other places! Admittedly if you want to be near Soi Bukhaow then Areca is nearer, and PBR is a 3 minute tuk-tuk ride.

At least PBR doesn't charge for joiners, doesn't have a 'no guests under 20s' rule and the staff are not rude to the girls.

i stay in this hotel 3 times this year. never had any big problem and the girls from the reception are good friends of mine.

i walk many times alone through the avenue late at night and never had any problem. they have 2 security guards in the mall.

the walls are thin and i heard sometimes noise from other rooms but not big deal.

the only problems i had was the water in the shower. from hot it turns cold sometimes and the third time i stayed they built a new elevator so i had some noise in the morning.

before you book ask first if they finished with it.

for low season its the best price 899baht without breakfast and you pay 6days if you stay one week.

I wont go that far, but yes i did get a little electric shock in the shower( but that was taken care of straight away by an electician that was brought to the hotel)
